On holiday!

I was hoping to make some more cards this week, but time has gone so quickly getting ready for our holiday this weekend.   I've got my Promarkers packed and also my Zentangle kit - just in case the weather's bad.

Back in two weeks!

I made this card for this week's Winter Wonderland challenge which is 'Christmas Presents' and also for the 52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown challenge 'sequins and/or pearls'.  All the papers and embellishments are from my snippets drawer, so I'm also in Pixie's Crafty Snippets Playground.

Twinkle, Twinkle Christmas Star

We visited our families over Easter and my mother and sister gave me a bag with all their Christmas and Birthday cards from last year - 'just in case I can make anything with them'.  There's going to be a lot of upcycling over the next few months - especially with the Christmas cards.  I made the first card for this week's Winter Wonderland challenge which is 'Twinkle, Twinkle Christmas Star'.

Birthday Wishes

I needed to make a quick card for a colleague's birthday and as I always struggle with male cards I got my inspiration from this week's Seize the Birthday sketch.

Woodware Salutations sentiment stamp
Wild Rose Studio 'Man about Town' papers
Black card
Versafine Black Onyx ink

I layered a strip of paper to black card and attached it to the card front.  The sentiment was stamped directly onto the card front.  Very simple, but I was pleased with the result.

Easter Bunny

My final card to share today is one of my Easter cards and is perfect for the CASology 'Bunny' Challenge.  More snippets have been used so I'm into Pixie's Crafty Snippets Playground again (three visits in one day - I would love that Penny Black stamp!).

Image and sentiment - freebie from magazine
Card from snippets drawer
Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder
Memento Tuxedo Black ink
Promarkers

I attached a piece of Swiss Dots embossed card to my card blank.  I stamped the Bunny and sentiment onto white card - these were a magazine freebie a couple of years ago so I don't know the make - and then coloured them with Promakers.  I die cut the bunny image and attached it to a lilac lacey die cut from my snippets drawer.  The sentiment was attached to another piece of lilac card.  The images were then attached to the card front with foam tape.

Three Flowers and Three Rectangles

I made this card for a card swap which is 'Three flowers and a minimum of three rectangles - for any occasion'.  I've had the peel-offs for ages so I'm entering this card into the Oldie but a Goodie Challenge 'Feeling Floral'.  I'm also in Pixie's Crafty Snippets Playground again.

Magenta Style flower peel off
Sentiment from snippets drawer
Papers and card from snippets drawer
Promarkers

A rectangle of green paper was attached to yellow card and attached to the card blank.  I attached the Magenta Style flower peel off onto a rectangle white card attached this to yellow card.  The separate flowers were attached to card and cut out so I could decoupage the image and the images were then coloured with Promarkers.  The image was attached to the card front with foam tape and I used silicone glue to attach the decoupaged flowers.  A silver peel off was attached to another rectangle of green paper, layerd onto yellow card and attached to the card front.  To finish I attached three circle peel offs to the card front.

Santa with Wine

Whilst having having a tidy up, I found loads of bits'n'bobs which I must use up before I buy anything else.  This means I'll have plenty of cards to share in Pixie's Crafty Snippets Playground, including this card which I've made for this week's Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas Challenge which is 'Santa and/or his helpers'.  I'm also entering the card into Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas Challenge Extra - 'Anything goes as long as it's Christmas.

Just to say

My final card to share today is for this week's Dynamic Duos challenge which is 'Dark Green and Yellow'.  I'm also back in Pixie's Crafty Snippets Playground as I'm using more snippets for this card.

The flower image is a black Woodware peel-off which I attached to a piece of white card and then cut around the outer edge, before attaching it to a white scalloped die cut.   The image was coloured with Sakura gel pens.  I used my Woodware Crafty Edger with the Antique Floral cassette on a piece of yellow card.  I layered a strip of green patterned paper onto the yellow card and fastened it to the front of the card.  The flower image was attached with foam tape.  To finish, I attached a sentiment to the front of the card and three small circles to balance the image.

Celebrate in Style ...

I've made this card for my uncle's birthday using this week's Freshly Made Sketch, which is a sketch by Tui.

The papers were all from Wild Rose Studio's 'Man about Town' paper pack.  I covered a white card blank with the grey/white stripe paper and then attached strips of celebrate and wine bottle papers to follow the sketch.   The sentiment was cut from the paper and attached to another piece of the striped paper.  To finish I attached small grey pearls to the black dots on the celebrate papers.

Floral Display

As part of my crafty sort out, I came across this image which I had stamped but not coloured.  As all the papers and card are from my snippets drawer, I'm into the playground with Di at Pixie's Crafty Snippets Playground.  I made the card for a friend who's not feeling too good at the moment - I didn't attach a sentiment to the front as I wrote her a little note inside.

I coloured the Hobby Art 'Floral Display' image with coloured pencils and attached it to a scalloped circle of pink card.  I cut four squares from two different papers from my snippets drawer and used a corner rounder on opposite corners of each square.   These were attached to a square of pink card before being mounted onto the card front.   The image was attached to the centre of the card.

Kath x

Christmas Angel

Whilst looking through my Christmas drawer I found these cute decoupaged angels which I had obviously missed when I made last year's cards.  I'm going to enter this card into Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas Challenge 'One word is sufficient' and the Winter Wonderland 'Snowflakes falling all around' Challenge.  I've also joined in Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas Challenge Extra where 'anything goes as long as it's Christmas'.

I layered a square of dark blue snowflake paper to gold card and attached it to a white card blank.  A piece of snowflake paper, slightly larger than the angels was layered onto gold card and attached to the front of the card.  The angels were then attached to the panel.  I used Harrington font to type 'Christmas' and printed it onto white card, this was then layered onto snowflake paper and gold card before being attached to the card.  To finish, I added gold nailheads to the corners of the card.

Have a hoot on your birthday

This is the other birthday card I made today - I can't say who it's for as I don't want to spoil the suprise for her birthday!   This card used the Woodware Patch an Owl stamp set which was a magazine freebie last month.   All the papers and card have come from my snippets drawer, so I'm in Pixie's Crafty Snippets Playground.

I attached a strip of striped paper and turquose card onto the card blank and stamped the sentiment directly onto the card.   The owl image was stamped onto thin card and cut out, the image was then stamped onto various co-ordinating paper snippets which were cut out and attached to the owl image.  I used foam tape to attach the wings.  The branch was stamped onto brown card - the branch and owl were then attached to the card.  To finish I added 'wobbly eyes' to the owl.

Enjoy your birthday all day long ...

It seems ages since I posted any cards on my blog - last Thursday we decided to have a weekend away, which was lovely, but I seem to have been playing catch-up all week!  I've made a couple of cards today, this one is for my mum's birthday which I'm going to enter into the ABC Challenges 'H for Happy Birthday'.

I used Onyx Black Versafine to stamp the Woodware Phlox image and sentiment onto white pearlescent card.  The image was embossed with clear embossing powder and coloured with Promarkers.  I used a Woodware squared corner punch and then layered the image panel onto lilac card before attaching it to a white pearlescent card blank.

Me to You - With Love

There is a cute 'Me to You' stamp as a magazine freebie this month and I thought it would be ideal for this week's CAS(E) this Sketch challenge.  As I've used snippets of card and ribbon to make this card, I'm also going into the playground at Pixie's Crafty Workshop.

I used Tuxedo Black Momento ink to stamp the 'Me to You' image onto white card and coloured it with Promarkers, this was then layered onto a scrap of red card.  I stamped the Hobby Art sentiment onto white card with Satin Red Versafine and then layered it onto red card.  A small scrap of red ribbon was attached to the rear of the image to form a small loop.  The image was attached to the card with double sided tape and I used foam tape to attach the sentiment.

Bethlehem

I've made this Christmas card from an upcycled image and snippets.  I hadn't made it with any challenge in mind, but have seen that this month's Sparkles Christmas Challenge is 'Anything Goes'.  I'm also entering it into Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas Challenge Extra which has a monthly theme of  'anything goes as long as it's Christmas'.

I die cut the image from the Christmas card and layered it onto a scalloped gold circle.   The star paper was layered onto gold mirri before being attached to a dark blue card blank.   I then attached the image to the centre of the card.  To finish, I added three gold nailheads to the top right and three to the bottom left of the card.

Forget me not

I thought I would share another card I've made this afternoon - this is for this week's Less is More challenge which has the theme 'Friends'.  I bought these Little Claire peel offs ages ago as I thought they were cute, but then never used them!

I attached the elephant peel off and some flowers to a scrap of white pearlesent card and then layered it onto black card - inking the edges with a black Promarker.  The image was coloured with Promarkers and attached to a tent fold card.  I attached the 'Forget me not' sentiment and another flower directly onto the card front.

Christmas Wishes & Kisses

This week's Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas Challenge is to use something recycled or something that is free - I've chosen the recycle option and have used an image and sentiment recycled from my Christmas cards.  I have also entered this card into Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas Challenge Extra where 'anything goes as long as it's Christmas'.

I attached red patterned paper to an A6 cream card blank.  The sentiment was cut from an old card, the corners were rounded and it was attached to the card with tape.  The image was attached with foam tape to give some dimension to the card.   To finish I used Glossy Accents on the mistletoe berries.

Warm wishes

My choice tonight was - do I finish my ironing or do I make some cards?  It wasn't too difficult to decide, so here is one of the cards I made!   This week's Less is More challenge is 'Sports or Exercise' so I used this lovely Marianne Design 'Ice Skating Don' stamp which was a freebie in a magazine before Christmas.

I used Versafine Black Onxy to stamp the image and sentiment onto a white pearlescent card blank and embossed it with clear embossing powder.  The image was then coloured with Promarkers.  I'm not sure why I didn't use this stamp on any of my Christmas cards as I think he looks quite cute!
