Magical Fairy

I made this card for my great-niece's 5th birthday.  I'm entering the Cutie Pie Challenge 'Spring Cuties', Seize the Birthday 'Anything Goes' challenge and Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenge 'Anything Goes'. As the paper and card are from my snippets mountain I'm also heading into the playground at Pixie's Crafty Workshop.

Card blank: 6" x 6" white matt
Image: Lili of the Valley 'Magical Fairies' Art Pad
Stamp: Ultimate Crafts L'aquarelle Designs 'Sentiment'
Die: Memory Box 'Classic Numbers', Spellbinders Nestabilities 'Wonky Rectangles'
Embossing: Kars tan embossing mat
Ink: Versafine Deep Lagoon, Brilliance Pearlescent Purple
Snippets: Making Cards 'Springtime' paper (magazine freebie), white card
Other: Wink of Stella

I trimmed the purple paper to a square.  As it was a snippet there was a chunk missing from one of the corners but I cut the largest square I could and then attached it to the card front.  To hide the missing corner, I cut four triangles from a co-ordinating striped paper and attached them to the corners of the purple paper.  I die cut and embossed the precoloured Art Pad image and die cut the number from the lower edge.  The 'Today' stamp was part of a larger sentiment and I carefully cut the word away from the rest of the stamp (it can easily be pieced back together if I want to use the whole sentiment).  I didn't have the right colour ink, so using my MISTI I stamped 'Today' once in Deep Lagoon and a couple of times in Pearlescent Purple to give the colour I wanted to match the backing paper.  I die cut two smaller wonky rectangles from snippets of white card and attached them to the back of the image before attaching it to the card.  I attached another small snippet of purple paper onto white card, die cut the number '5' and inlaid it into the topper.  To finish I highlighted the fairy with a Wink of Stella.

March Rudolph Day

It's time for the March Rudolph Day challenge and I've made another 4" x 4" card.  I have a lot of these small images from the LOTV Mini Masterpiece sheets and have found they work well with snippets, so I'll be using a lot of them in my frugal crafting year!  I'm also entering the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown 'Embossing' challenge, the ABC Christmas Challenge 'E for Embossing' and the Holly and Ivy Christmas Challenge 'Anything Christmas Goes'.

Card blank: 4" x 4" white matt
Image: Lili of the Valley 'Christmas Candle' Mini Masterpiece
Embossing: 'Festive Wishes' (magazine freebie)
Other: Wink of Stella
Snippets: Green and white matt card

I embossed a snippet of white card with the holly folder and trimmed it to a square.  This was layered onto green card and attached to the card front.  The precoloured topper was trimmed slightly to remove the 'pips', layered onto green card and attached to the centre.  To finish I highlighted the girl and candle with a Wink of Stella.

Christmas Pud

I made this card for Loll and Bonnie's new CAS Christmas challenge where the theme is 'Holly'.  I'm also entering the Holly and Ivy Christmas Challenge 'Anything Christmas Goes' and The Merry Christmas Challenge 'Always Anything Goes + Christmas'.

Card blank: 5" x 5" white matt
Stamp: Funstamps 'Christmas Pud'
Die: Spellbinders Nestabilities 'Classic Squares Large'
Embossing: Kars tan embossing mat
Ink: Versafine Vintage Sepia
Colouring: Promarkers
Card: Red mirri and white matt
Other: Wink of Stella

I stamped the Christmas Pud onto a piece of white card before die cutting and embossing it.  The holly and star were coloured with Promarkers before the panel was layered onto red mirri and attached to the centre of the card.  To finish, I highlighted the Pud with a Wink of Stella.

Spring Bunny with Eggs

I made this Easter card for my niece and her family.  I'm entering Sparkles Monthly Challenge 'Spring is in the Air', Cuttlebug Mania 'Springtime' and Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenge 'Anything Goes'.

Card blank: 6" x 6" white matt
Image: Lili of the Valley 'Spring Bunny with Eggs'
Dies: Spellbinders Nestabilities 'Classic Squares Large' and Lacy Squares
Embossing: Kars tan embossong mat
Card: Dark blue pearlescent
Paper: Lili of the Valley 'Sunnyside Up'

I trimmed the yellow paper, layered it onto dark blue card and attached it to the card front.  The precoloured image was already die cut, but I placed it into the Classic Square Die and ran it through my Cuttlebug with the embossing mat to emboss the edges.  This was then layered onto a dark blue die cue and embossed Lacy Square and attached to the centre of the card.

Rescue Squad

It's time for a new challenge at Winter Wonderland and our theme is 'Outdoor Fun.  We're sponsored by Dr Digi's House of Stamps who are offering the winner two digi stamps of their choice.

I'm entering the Cardz 4 Guys 'Things with Tails' challenge, Holly and Ivy Christmas Challenge 'Anything Christmas Goes' and The Merry Christmas Challenge 'Anything Goes + Christmas'.  I'm also heading over to the playground at Pixie's Crafty Workshop.

Card blank: 7" x 5" white silk
Image: Dr Digi's House of Stamps 'Rescue Squad'
Sentiment: Marianne Design 'Ice Skating Don' (magazine freebie)
Punch: Woodware Snowflake
Ink: Versafine Crimson Red
Colouring: Promarkers
Other: Stampendous White Fun Flock, Pearl Diamond Spray and Sparkle, Wink of Stella
Snippets: Tree background paper, red matt and white silk card

I trimmed the background paper, popped it into my MISTI and stamped the sentiment in the top corner - stamping it a couple of times to get a deep colour.  I layered the paper onto red card and attached it to the card blank.  I resized the digi and printed it onto white silk card.  This was fussy cut before being coloured with Promarkers.  I added Fun Flock to the edge of the hood and then attached the image to the lower corner of the card with foam tape.  I punched three snowflakes from white card and sprayed them with Spray and Sparkle before attaching them to the card.  To finish I highlighted the sentiment with a Wink of Stella.

Mother's Day Wishes

I made this card for my mother-in-law for Mother's Day.  I'm entering A Gem of A Challenge 'Mother's Day', the Alphabet Challenge 'Y for Your Choice' (I've chosen to make a quick  CAS Mother's Day card) and Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenge 'Anything Goes'.

Card blank: 7" x 5" white matt
Image: Lili of the Valley 'Beautiful Blooms' Art Pad
Sentiment: Woodware 'Happy Mother's Day'
Punch: Woodware Corner Rounder
Ink: Versafine Olympia Green
Paper: Lilac (make unknown)
Other: Clear sequins, Wink of Stella

I covered the front of the card blank with lilac paper.  I trimmed the pre-coloured Art Pad image so it had equal borders around the edge and rounded the corners.  Using my MISTI I stamped the sentiment under the floral basket before attaching the panel to the centre of the card.  To finish I added five small clear sequins and highlighted the flowers with a Wink of Stella.

Oliver Texting

I made this birthday card for one of my great nephews.  I always struggle making cards for teenage boys, but these LOTV 'Oliver' digi stamps are perfect!  I'm entering the Seize the Birthday 'Anything Goes' challenge and Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenge 'Anything Goes'.

Card blank: 6" x 6" white matt
Stamp: Lili of the Valley 'Oliver Texting' digi, Hobby Art 'General Greetings'
Ink: Versafine Vintage Sepia
Colouring: Promarkers
Card: Dark Brown matt, white silk
Paper: Papermania 'Capsule Elements Wood', Hot off the Press 'Floral Ultimate Pack'

I trimmed the wood effect paper, layered it onto brown card and attached it to the card blank, adding a strip of spotty paper across the middle.  I resized the digi stamp and printed it onto white silk card before colouring it with Promarkers.  The panel was trimmed and the sentiment stamped on the left side using my MISTI.  This was then layered onto brown card and attached to the left side of the card.

My heart belongs to you

I made this card for Steve for our forthcoming wedding anniversary and am entering the Less is More 'Dry Embossing' Challenge.  I'm also entering the Alphabet Challenge 'Y for You Choose' (I've chosen die cutting and embossing to make an anniversary card) and Sparkles Monthly Challenge 'Clean and Simple'.

Card blank: 6" x 6" white silk
Stamp: Hannelie's 'My heart belongs to you' digi (freebie from Hannelie's blog)
Die: Spellbinders Nestabilities 'Classic Heart'
Embossing: Xcut 'Small Polka Hearts folder
Card: Dark red embossed, white silk
Paper: White silk

I trimmed white card to a square, layered it onto red card and attached it to the centre of the card blank.  I die cut the largest Classic Heart and embossed it with the heart embossing folder.  This was attached to the centre with Pinflair glue so I could easily wriggle it to the centre of the card.  I printed Hannelie's sentiment onto white paper (frustratingly my printer is refusing to print onto the white card I've always used!) which was then glued onto white card, trimmed and attached it across the heart with foam tape.

For those who haven't seen Hannelie's blog, there are loads of fabulous sentiments you can download.

Christmas Flowers

This months's challenge at Christmas Crafts All Year Round is 'Flowers' and I've used the last snippet of a pretty poinsettia paper for my card.  I'm entering the Merry Monday 'Poinsettia' challenge and the Holly and Ivy Christmas Challenge 'Anything Christmas Goes'.  I'm also heading over to the playground at Pixie's Crafty Workshop with my snippets.

Card blank: 5" x 5" white matt
Die: Creative Expressions 'Contemporary Happy Christmas'
Snippets: Red and white matt card, red mirri card, Wild Rose Studio 'Annabelle's Christmas' paper (magazine freebie)

I trimmed my last snippet of poinsettia paper to a square, layered it onto red card and attached it to the card front.  I die cut Happy Christmas from red mirri card and set it aside.  I die cut the sentiment from white card, trimmed it to a strip and layered it onto red card.  I then inlaid the red mirri sentiment and the rest of the white pieces which were still inside my die (for safe keeping!).  I put a piece of paper across the top of the sentiment and ran it through my Cuttlebug to ensure all the pieces were flat and then attached the panel across the card.
