Grand Happy Birthday

I made this card for a friend's birthday using a new set of floral dies.

I die cut 'happy birthday' from a snippet of dark red textured card and trimmed it so it was slightly narrower than the card blank before attaching it to the card.  I die cut the sentiment again from white matt card and inlaid the letters.  I used another snippet of dark red textured card to cut the largest flower and also cut one from a lighter red textured card.  I cut a flower centre from a tiny snippet of light green textured card and two large leaves from dark green textured card.  I layered the flowers with the lighter red on top of the flower and attached them to the top corner of the card.  I attached the flower centre and the two leaves underneath the flower.

To make this card I used:
     6" x 4" white matt card blank
Memory Box 'Grand Happy Birthday' and Creative Expressions 'Finishing Touches -Pierced Summer Blooms' dies
Snippets of dark red, red, dark green and light green textured card and white matt card

November Rudolph Day

It's time for the final Rudolph Day of the year and this time I've made some gift tags with a magazine cover gift (which has been my theme this year).  These tags use a set of stamps that were a cover gift with Making Cards magazine.

I attached snippets of pink and turquoise paper onto white matt card and die cut the tags.  I placed the pink tag into my MISTI and lined up the poinsettia and sentiment stamps.  These were stamped in Crimson Red ink and embossed with clear embossing powder.  I used a metallic gold gel pen to highlight the poinsettia and attached a snippet of gold ribbon to the tag.  The turquoise tags was stamped with the reindeer's head and sentiment using Vintage Sepia ink and embossed with clear embossing powder.  I attached a small red enamel dot to the reindeer's nose and a snippet of red ribbon to the tag.

To make this card I used:
Making Cards Magazine 'Essential Christmas Stamps'
     Creative Expressions 'Pierced Tags' dies
Versafine Vintage Sepia and Crimson Red ink
Cosmic Shimmer Clear Detail embossing powder
Pentel Hybrid Dual Metallic Gel Pen - metallic gold
     Small red enamel dot
Snippets of white matt card, pink paper, turquoise paper and ribbon

Cross Stitch Peacock

I've made some more of my cross stitch pictures into small cards -this is one of my favourites as I love the bright colours of this peacock.  After finishing the stitching I mounted it behind a frame made from stitched square and circle dies before attaching it to the card front.

Scarlet & Green Delightful Dangles

I've used this Christmas stamp many times and it's still one of my favourites.

I trimmed a piece of white card so it was slightly smaller than the card blank and rounded the corners.  I placed the panel in my MISTI and lined up the tree and sentiment stamps before stamping them in dark green ink.  I then used clear embossing powder to make the image shine.  I coloured the dangles on the tree with a red Copic pen and added a Wink of Stella for a bit of Christmas sparkle.

To make this card I used:
     7" x 5" white matt card blank
     Woodware 'Delightful Dangles' stamp
     Versafine Olympia Green ink
Cosmic Shimmer Clear Detail embossing powder
     Copic R29 pen
     Wink of Stella
     Woodware corner rounder punch

Teddy with Sleigh Card

A friend sent me this cute Mouseloft cross stitch kit as part of a RAK swap.  After stitching the teddy I placed it behind a frame made with stitched square and circle dies.  The panel was then layered onto a snippet of dark red card and attached it to the front of the card blank.

Rainbow Birthday

I made this rainbow card for a friend's birthday using one of my favourite butterfly dies that had been a magazine cover gift ages ago.

I die cut seven small butterflies from snippets of textured cardstock and set them aside.  I used the curved border to die cut a snippet of white card - extending the border so it fitted across the bottom of the card blank.  I placed the border into my MISTI and laid the butterflies along the top edge so I could see where to stamp the sentiment.  I removed the butterflies and stamped the sentiment a couple of times to get a good depth of colour.  The border was then attached to the bottom of the card and the butterflies attached along the curved edge of the border.

To make this card I used:
     7" x 5" white matt card blank
Spellbinders Borderabilities 'A2 Curved Borders One' and Tattered Lace 'Mini Butterfly' dies
Clearly Besotted 'Fancy Sayings' sentiment stamp
     Versafine Vintage Sepia ink
Snippets of white matt card, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet textured card

Marbled Bauble

This embossing folder, die and stamp set was a cover gift with a magazine ages ago and is still one of my favourites.  This card uses my last tiny snippet of a beautiful marbled paper I bought from Jess (The Whimsical Marbler).

I embossed a piece of white card, trimmed the edges so it was slightly smaller than the card blank and attached it to the card.  The bauble shape was cut from the panel when it had been embossed.  I attached a snippet of paper to a thin piece of white card, stamped the bauble with black ink and embossed it with clear embossing powder.  The bauble was cut with the die from the embossing folder and inlaid into the front of the card.  I stamped the bow onto a tiny snippet of turquoise textured card and fussy cut it before attaching it to the top of the bauble with a foam pad.

To make this card I used:
     6" x 4" white matt card blank
Practical Publishing 'Opulent Baubles' emboss, cut and stamp set
     Versafine Onyx Black ink
Cosmic Shimmer Clear Detail embossing powder
Snippets of marbled paper, turquoise textured card and white matt card

Joy

I'm still on a mission to try and use my snippets mountain rather than using new sheets of paper and card.  This card uses snippets of dark red mirri and a gold holographic mirri card, although I've struggled to take a photograph which shows the shine from the two cards.

I trimmed a piece of white hammer card so it was slightly smaller than the front of the card blank and die cut the plain 'JOY' from the centre.  I rounded the corners of the panel and attached it to the card.  I die cut the plain 'JOY' from red mirri and inlaid it into the panel.  I die cut the fancy 'JOY' from gold holographic mirri and attached it on top of the red letters.

To make this card I used:
     6" x 4" white hammer card blank
Creative Expressions 'Festive Collection - Joy' die
Snippets of red mirri card, gold holographic card and white hammer card

Cross Stitch Angel

I was given this cute Angel chart and left over threads in a Giveaway group - I just needed to add the fabric to make this cute card.  The kit was originally from Hobbycraft although the design is by Mouseloft.

After finishing the stitching I mounted the angel behind a frame made from two stitched square dies and attached it to the card front.

Snow Buddies

I found this Woodware 'Snow Buddies' stamp in a charity shop - I do like the quality of Woodware stamps and love this simple design.

I stamped the image onto a snippet of white card using black ink and embossed it with clear embossing powder.  I trimmed the image before colouring the hats, scarves and noses with Promarkers.  The coloured panel was layered onto a snippet of green textured card before being attached to the front of the card blank.  I highlighted the stripes on the hats and scarves with a Wink of Stella before adding Stickles to the fur trim and bobbles on the hats.

To make this card I used:
     DL white matt card blank
     Woodware 'Snow Buddies' stamp
     Versafine Onyx Black ink
Cosmic Shimmer Clear Detail embossing powder
     Promarkers
     Wink of Stella
     Diamond Stickles
Snippets of white matt card and green textured card

Terrific Triangles

I made this card to send to Greta for the October Card Chain Challenge.  I used the Colour Option (Silver, Blush & Frost) and the Theme Option (Friendship).

I die cut a stitched square from pale blue pearlescent card and set it aside.  I die cut four bottom layer triangles from silver mirri card and four top layer triangles from pink pearlescent card.  I layered the pink onto the silver and then attached all four triangles to the blue square.  The panel was then attached to the card front.  I die cut two 'hello' sentiments from white card and one from silver mirri.  The white layers were layered onto each other with the silver layered on top and slightly offset to give a white shadow, this was then attached to the lower section of the square.

To make this card I used:
     6" x 6" white matt card blank
Practical Publishing 'Terrific Triangles', My Favorite Things 'Inside & Out Stitched Square STAX Die-namics' and Altenew 'Simply Hello' dies
Snippets of white matt card, silver mirri card, blue and pink pearlescent card
