April Rudolph Day

It's time for the fourth Rudolph Day of the year and another Christmas card with a main stamped image (stamping is my RD theme this year).  This card uses one of my favourite Funky Fossil stamps - perfect for masculine Christmas cards.

To make this card I used:
     5" x 5" white card blank
     Funky Fossil 'Joy' stamps
My Favorite Things 'Inside & Out Stitched Circle STAX Die-namics' die
     Versafine Vintage Sepia ink
Cosmic Shimmer Clear Detail embossing powder
     Copics - E35
     Gold and silver gel pens
Snippet of gold foiled kraft card

I trimmed the snippet of kraft card so it was slightly smaller than the card blank before attaching it to the front of the card.  I stamped the wreath with brown ink and embossed it with clear embossing powder.  I then used the largest stitched circle die to cut around the image.  I coloured the pine cones with a light brown pen, the letters and berries with a gold gel pen and the snowflakes with a silver gel pen.  I attached the wreath topper to the centre of the card.

I am entering the following challenges:
Addicted to Stamps & More - Make Your Mark (I have used ink, a Copic and gell pens)
     Allsorts - Anything Goes
     Ally's Angels - Anything Goes
     Cardz 4 Guyz - Clean & Simple
Krafty Chicks Challenge - Anything Goes + Colour an Image
Rudolph Day Challenge - April Challenge

March Rudolph Day

It's time for the third Rudolph Day of the year (where is the time going?) and another card with a main stamped image (stamping is my RD theme this year).

To make this card I used:
     6" x 4" white matt card blank
Paper Artsy 'JOFY Christmas Candle' stamp
Lawn Fawn 'Outside In Stitched Square Stackables' die
     Versafine Onyx Black ink
Cosmic Shimmer clear detail embossing powder
     Copics - B05, B29, C-5, E35. E50, E57, V17, Y08, Y15, YG67, YR04 & YR07
     Diamond Stickles
Snippet of white matt card and dark purple pearlescent card

I stamped the Christmas candle onto a snippet of white card before cutting it with the stitched square die.  I coloured the candle with Copics, layered the panel onto a snippet of dark purple pearlescent card and attached it to the centre of the card blank.  To finish I added Diamond Stickles to the twiggy branches.

I am entering the following challenges:
     Allsorts - Anything Goes
Christmas (or not) BINGO Challenge - Board 18 (I have used Line I - Christmas, Free & Stamping)

February Rudolph Day

It's time for the second Rudolph Day of the year and another Christmas card with a stamped image (a main stamped image is my RD theme this year).  This lovely Woodware stamp was in the Christmas prize bundle I won in the Snippets Playground.

To make this card I used:
     6" x 6" white matt card blank
Woodware 'Bubble Bauble and Bow' stamp set\
     Versafine Vintage Sepia ink
Cosmic Shimmer Clear Detail embossing powder
     Copics - B32, G02, G05, RV23, V12, V15, Y02, Y15, YG06 & YR00
     Woodware 'Corner Rounder' punch
     Glossy Accents
     Wink of Stella
     White matt card

I used brown ink to stamp the bauble and sentiment onto white matt card.  The panel was then trimmed so it was slightly smaller than the card blank and the corners rounded.  I used Copics to colour the bauble, bow and leaves before attaching the panel to the front of the card blank.  To finish I applied Glossy Accents to the baubles and a Wink of Stella on the bow.

I am entering the following challenges:
Addicted to Stamps & More - Make your Mark (I have used Copics)
Allsorts - Embossing (I have used wet embossing for my image and sentiment)
     Ally's Angels - Anything Goes

November Rudolph Day

It's the eleventh Rudolph Day of the year and another die cut Christmas card (die cutting is my RD theme this year).  To make this card I used a Creative Dies die that had been a cover gift with a magazine back in 2016 and is still a favourite of mine.

To make this card I used:
     5" x 5" white linen card blank
Creative Dies 'Festive Scene' and Spellbinders Nestabilities 'Standard Circles Large' dies
Snippets of blue pearlescent card, gold mirri card, Marianne Design 'Snow Paper', thin white card and blue paper

I die cut a circle and the Festive Scene from snippets of blue pearlescent card and attached the scene onto the backing circle.  I attached the blue paper onto thin white card (to make it the same thickness as the rest of the card) and then die cut the sky and inlaid this into the scene.  I die cut the snow from 'Snow Paper'  and the windows from gold mirri card.  These pieces were then inlaid into the Festive Scene.  The panel was then attached to the centre of the card blank.

I am entering the following challenges:
A Cut Above - Anything Goes with a Die Cut
     Allsorts - Anything Goes
As You Like It Challenge - Gold, Silver or Glitter (gold is my favourite as I love the warmth it adds to a card.  I'm not a fan of glitter although I do like this 'Snow Paper' to create snowy scenes)
     CAS on Friday - Christmas
Christmas (or not) BINGO Challenge - I have used Line 'O' (CAS, No Stamping & Free)
     Daisy Chain Challenge - Christmas/Winter
Moving Along with the Times - Winter Wonderland
     Rudolph Days - November Challenge
     Snippets Playground - Challenge 520

October Rudolph Day

It's time for the tenth Rudolph Day of the year - just one RD before Christmas!  I've made another die cut Christmas card as die-cutting is my RD theme this year.

To make this card I used:
     5" x 5" white matt card blank
Creative Dies 'Woodland Scene' and My Favorite Things 'Inside & Out Stitched Square STAX Die-namics' dies
Snippets of dark brown pearlescent card, white matt card, gold mirri and light brown swirl paper

I die cut the woodland scene from dark brown pearlescent card and removed the small tree from the bottom of the die as I prefer the scene without it.  I layered the die cut onto a snippet of light brown paper and set it aside.  I used the largest die to cut a square from the snippet of white matt card.  The woodland panel was then layered onto the white square and attached attached to the centre of the card.  To finish I die cut the two largest stars from gold mirri, layered them and attached them above the deer.

I am entering the following challenges:
52 Christmas Card Throwdown - Quick Card
AAA Cards - Anything CAS Goes/Monochrome
ABC Christmas Card Throwdown - U for Uncluttered
A Cut Above - Anything Goes with a Die Cut
     Krafty Chicks Challenge - Masculine
     Rudolph Day - October Challenge

Sparkles Christmas Challenge - Non-traditional Christmas Colours

August Rudolph Day

For one reason and another I've not done much crafting over the last couple of weeks, although I have been tidying my craft drawers to make room for a lot of cross stitch items I've been gifted.  During my 'sort out' I came across several embossed panels and some die cuts which I had made for cards and not used.  One of the panels and some letters were perfect for making this quick die cut card for Rudolph Day (die cutting is my RD theme this year)

To make this card I used:
     7" x 5" white matt card blank
Creative Expressions 'Festive Collection - Joy', All Occasion Dies 'Small Poinsettia' and Memory Box 'Mini Holly Leaves' dies
     Xcut 'Swirls' embossing folder
     Snippets of white matt card

The panel had been embossed and I trimmed it around the edges before attaching it to the front of the card.  The letters had been die cut from white card and I then die cut the poinsettia and holly berries from another snippet of white card.  The poinsettias were layered with the holly berries attached to the centre.  I layered two 'J' and two 'Y' letters so they would be more prominent in the centre of the embossed panel.  I placed the letters and poinsettia onto the card to ensure they were evenly spaced before gluing them into place.

I am entering the following challenges:
A Cut Above - Anything Goes with a Die Cut
ABC Christmas Challenge - Q for Quick
     Ally's Angels - Anything Goes
Cut It Up - Anything Goes
     Rudolph Day - August Challenge

July Rudolph Day

It's time for another Rudolph Day and another die cut card (die cutting is my RD theme for this year.).  I nearly didn't have a die cut card as my old Cuttlebug made a loud 'crack' when I was making the card and the bottom roller broke away at one side.  I managed to find someone about 20 miles from me who was selling one on Facebook Marketplace so back to my die cutting!

To make this card I used:
     5.5" x 4.25 white hammer card blank
Memory Box 'Merry Christmas Tree' and My Favorite Things 'Inside & Out Stitched Rectangle STAX Die-namics' dies
Snippets of dark blue and gold mirri card

I used the largest rectangle die to emboss the front of the card blank and set it aside.  I die cut the 'Merry Christmas Tree' from a snippet of dark blue mirri and snipped the star from the top before attaching it to the card blank.  I then die cut the star from a snippet of gold mirri and attached it to the top of the tree.  Quick and easy and my new Cuttlebug works like a dream which makes me realise my one one was on its last legs!

I am entering the following challenges:
A Cut Above - Anything Goes with a Die Cut
     Addicted to CAS - Christmas
Addicted to Stamps & More - Christmas
Christmas Crafts All Year Round - Blue Christmas

May Rudolph Day

It's time for the fifth Rudolph Day of the year and another die cut Christmas card (die cutting in my RD theme this year).  For this card I've used one of my 'old favourites' which is perfect for making quick CAS Christmas cards.

To make this card I used:
     5.5" x 4.25" white hammer card blank
Creative Expressions 'Festive Collection - Joy' & My Favorite Things 'Inside & Out Stitched Rectangle STAX Die-namics' dies
Snippets of white hammer card, black matt card and cerise mirri card

I die cut a rectangle from white hammer card and then die cut the plain JOY from the centre.  The panel was then attached to the centre of the card blank.  I die cut JOY from black matt card and inlaid the letters into the panel, together with the middle of the O that had been cut from white card.  I then die cut the fancy JOY from cerise mirri card and attached it to the card over the black letters.

I am entering the following challenges:
52 Christmas Card Throwdown - Use Die Cuts or Punches (I've chosen the die cuts option)
     Allsorts - Anything Goes
Love to Scrap - Anything Goes
Merry Little Christmas Challenge - Anything Christmas Goes
Pearly Sparkles Challenge - Black and White Plus One Colour (I have chosen cerise)
     Rudolph Day - May Challenge
Simply Clean & Simple - Clean & Simple

April Rudolph Day

It's the fourth Rudolph Day of the year and another card using die cuts (die cutting is my RD theme this year).  I used a poinsettia die and lots of snippets to make this CAS Christmas card.

To make this card I used:
     5" x 5" white hammer card blank
My Favorite Things 'Inside & Out Stitched Square STAX Die-namics', All Occasion Dies 'Small Poinsettia' & Memory Box 'Mini Holly Leaves'
Snippets of red pearlescent card, white hammer card and gold mirri card

I die cut a square from white hammer card, layered it onto a slightly larger square of red pearlescent card and attached it to the centre of the card blank.  I die cut and embossed the three different size poinsettias from red pearlescent card, layered them and attached them to the centre of the square.  To finish I die cut holly berries from gold mirri card and attached them to the centre of the poinsettia.

I am entering the following challenges:
Alphabet Challenge - P for Poinsettia
As You Like It Challenge - Clean & Simple or Fussy & Fancy (it's always CAS for me - if I try a fussy card it always seems to look messy)
Christmas Kickstart Challenge - Positively Poinsettias
     Rudolph Day - April Challenge
Sparkles Christmas Challenge - Christmas Foliage

This is my last post for a few weeks as we're off on our travels on Sunday.  We're starting with a visit to our families, then a couple of days at Portmerion before heading to Angelsey for three weeks.

March Rudolph Day

I've not had much crafting time over the last couple of weeks as we've finally got our campervan back after lengthy warranty work so have been away to make the most of the lovely spring weather.  I made this quick card for the third Rudolph Day of the year using a die cut (die cuts are my RD theme this year).

To make this card I used:
     C6 white matt card blank
Creative Expressions 'Festive Mini Expressions - Stacked Happy Christmas' die
     Xcut 'Swirls' embossing folder
Snippets of white matt card and dark red mirri card

I embossed a piece of white card with the 'Swirls' embossing folder, trimmed around the edge and attached it to the front of the card blank.  I die cut the sentiment from both white matt card and red mirri card, layered the red onto the white sentiment and attached them to the centre of the panel in the embossed frame.  Quick and easy and another card for my Christmas box.

I am entering the following challenges:
ABC Christmas Challenge - E for Embossing & F for Focal Sentiment
     Ally's Angels - Anything Goes
Merry Little Christmas Challenge - Anything Christmas Goes
     Rudolph Day - March Challenge

January Rudolph Day

It's time for the first Rudolph Day of the year.  For the past few years I've had a theme for me RD cards. In 2017 I used images from a Lili of the Valley Art Pad, in 2018 my cards were 4" x 4", in 2019 all cards had a Christmas tree on them, in 2020 I used wet and/or dry embossing on my cards, in 2021 I used something that had been upcycled, in 2022 I used something that had been a cover gift with a magazine, in 2023 all my cards were cross stitch designs and last year they were all white, green and gold.  This year my theme will be die cutting and I will have used at least one die on the cards.

I've used this 'Opulent Baubles' embossing folder many times, but as the small die had fallen out of it I decided to cut a different bauble for this card.

To make this card I used:
     C6 white matt card blank
Marianne Design Creatables 'Christmas Bauble' and Memory Box 'Crisp Bows' dies
Practical Publishing 'Opulent Baubles' embossing folder
Snippets of white matt card red glitter card and gold mirri

I placed the bauble die inside the embossing folder and embossed a piece of white card, this also cut the bauble shape.  The panel was trimmed and attached to the card blank.  I die cut the bauble from red glitter card and inlaid it into the front of the card.  The bauble was cut again with gold mirri and the small pieces inlaid into the card.  I die cut the bow from gold mirri and trimmed the bottom so it left just the bow section, this was then attached to the top of the bauble.

I am entering the following challenges:

     Allsorts - Anything Goes
     Ally's Angels - Anything Goes

My Favorite Things 'Inside & Out Stitched Rectangle STAX Die-namics' and Memory Box 'Merry Christmas Tree' dies
Snippets of white matt card, gold mirri and green glitter card

I die cut the stitched rectangle from a snippet of white matt card and layered it onto a slightly larger piece of gold mirri before attaching it to the card blank.  I die cut the tree from green glitter card and snipped the star from the top.  The tree was attached to the panel on the front of the card.  I then die cut the star from another small snippet of gold mirri and attached it to the top of the tree.

Memory Box 'Traditional Ornament', 'Lydia Ornament' and 'Crispy Bows' and My Favorite Things 'Inside & Out Stitched Rectangle STAX Die-namics dies
Snippets of white hammer card, green mirri card and gold sparkle card

I die cut a stitched rectangle from white matt card then die cut the Traditional Ornament from the lower edge before attaching the panel to the front of the card blank.  I die cut the Traditional Ornament from green mirri card and inlaid it into the front of the card.  I die cut the Lydia Ornament and Crisp Bow from gold sparkle card and then used Artist Tac to attach them to the card.

To make this card I used:
     C6 white hammer card blank
Memory Box 'Sparkling Tree Tile' die
Snippets of white hammer card, dark green paper and gold mirri card

I trimmed a snippet of white hammer card so it was slightly smaller than the card blank and die cut the tree from the centre.  I then used Artist Tac to attach a snippet of dark green paper behind the aperture before attaching the panel to the card blank.  I die cut the tree from small snippets of gold mirri card and inlaid the baubles into the card.

July Rudolph Day

It's time seventh Rudolph Day of the year and another of my colour themed cards (all my RD cards this year are green and gold).

To make this card I used:
     7" x 5" white matt card blank
     Woodware 'Christmas Bubble Tree' stamp
     Versafine Olympia Green ink
Cosmic Shimmer Clear Detail embossing powder
     Hybrid Dual Metallic gold pen
     Wink of Stella
     Glossy Accents
Snippets of white matt card and green patterned paper

I trimmed a snippet of white matt card so it was slightly smaller than the card blank and placed it into my MISTI.  I stamped the tree and sentiment with green ink, stamping a couple of times to get a good depth of colour before embossing them with clear embossing powder.  The panel was then attached to the front of the card blank.  I stamped the tree trunk onto a snippet of green paper, fussy cut it and then attached it to the card and added some Wink of Stella to make it sparkle.  I used the metallic gold pen to colour the baubles on the tree and then used Glossy Accents to make them shine.

     Versafine Olympia Green ink
Cosmic Shimmer Clear Detail embossing powder
Pentel Hybrid Dual Metallic gold pen

March Rudolph Day

Is time for the third Rudolph Day of the year - where is the this year going?  It's probably flying by as we've been away in our campervan again!  I've made another green and gold card for RD as this year's theme is a colour challenge and all my cards will be green and gold.

To make this card I used:
     C6 white matt card blank
     Sizzix 'Trees, Leafy' dies
Snippets of white matt card, dark green textured card and gold glitter paper

I trimmed a piece of white matt card so it was slightly smaller than the card blank and cut the outline of the tree from the centre before attaching the panel to the card blank.  I die cut the tree from a snippet of dark green textured card and inlaid it into the panel.  I used smaller snippets of self-adhesive gold glitter paper to cut the leaves which were then inlaid into the card.

I am entering the following challenges:

February Rudolph Day

I'm so pleased to see the Rudolph Day Challenge will continue as Helen has kindly taken over the reins from Maureen - so, it's time for the second RD of the year.

I like to have a theme for my RD cards and this year I've chosen a colour theme - all my cards will be green and gold.

To make this card I used:
     5" x 5" white matt card blank
Creative Dies 'Partridge in a Pear Tree' and My Favorite Things 'Inside & Out Stitched Circle STAX Die-namics' dies
Funky Fossil ''In To The Blue' paper
Snippets of white matt card, gold shimmer card and bright green mirri

I trimmed the white card to 4.25" x 4.25" and die cut a circle in the centre.  I layered the panel onto a piece of green paper and attached it to the front of the card.  I die cut the partridge from a snippet of gold shimmer card and attached it inside the aperture with Artist Tac.  I die cut the partridge again from snippets of green mirri and inlaid the pears, leaves and partridge details into the front of the card.

I am entering the following challenges:

January Rudolph Day

It's time for the first Rudoph Day of 2024 and sadly it will be the last challenge as ScrappyMo is closing the challenge blog.  I love RD and over the years have entered 93 cards into the challenge, the first was in May 2013 when Sarn was running the challenge, and I have also been Guest Designer for five challenges.

For the past few years I've enjoyed working to a theme for my Rudolph Day cards.  In 2017 I used images from a Lili of the Valley Art Pad, in 2018 my cards were 4" x 4", in 2019 all cards had a Christmas tree on them, in 2020 I used wet and/or dry embossing on my cards, in 2021 I used something that had been upcycled, in 2022 I used something that had been a cover gift with a magazine and last year all my cards were cross stitch designs.  This year I had decided to have a colour theme and my cards were to be white, green and gold - this is my first and last with this theme.

To make this card I used:
     5" x 5" white matt card blank
     Uniko 'Rustic Wreath' stamps
Lawn Fawn 'Outside In Stitched Square Stackables' & Memory Box 'Mini Holly Leaves' dies
     Versafine Olympia Green ink
Snippets of white matt card and gold mirri card

I placed a snippet of white card into my MISTI and stamped the wreath and sentiment with green ink.  The panel was then cut with a stitched die, layered onto a snippet of gold mirri card and attached to the card front.  To finish, I die cut lots of small holly berries from gold mirri and attached them around the wreath.

I am entering the following challenges:
ABC Christmas Challenge - A is for Anything Goes
Christmas Kickstart Challenge - The Midas Touch
Daisy Chain Challenge - No Design Paper
Holly and Ivy Christmas Challenge - Anything Christmas Goes

November Rudolph Day

It's time for the final Rudolph Day of the year and for another cross stitch card (cross stitch is my RD theme this year).  This lovely Derwentwater kit was amongst the cross stitch items my neighbour gifted me earlier this year so I thought I would make the card to send her for Christmas.

To make this card I used:
     Derwentwater 'Lantern' cross stitch kit
     Snippet of white paper

The kit was complete and contained everything to make this card.  After finishing the stitching I mounted it behind the aperture of the tri fold card and added a piece of white paper behind the stitching so the red card wouldn't show through the aida.  To finish I folded the card to the inside.

I am entering the following challenges:
     Ally's Angels - Anything Goes
Christmas BINGO Challenge - I have used line 'G' (real stitching, rectangle and red for my 'free' square)
Holly and Ivy Christmas Challenge - Anything Christmas Goes
Love to Craft - Anything Goes
