Hello

I needed to make a few more notecards and used the last snippets of my 49th and Market 'Vintage Artistry' paper pad.

I had made another card with the top section of the paper, so used the Curved Border die to cut the largest shape possible from the remaining paper.  After die cutting, I embossed along the edge of the curved border.  I die cut 'hello' from the paper, setting the pieces to one side, before attaching the paper to the lower corner of the card blank.  I die cut 'hello' twice more from more snippets from the same pad - the papers have a coloured core so I wouldn't get a white edge when stacking the sentiment.  I inlaid one 'hello' together with the small snippets I had set aside before layering the other two sentiments.

To make this card I used:
     6" x 4" white matt card blank
Spellbinders Borderabilities 'A2 Curved Border' and Altenew 'Simply Hello' dies
     Kars tan embossing mat
Snippets of 49th and Market 'Vintage Artistry in Blush' paper

April Rudolph Day

It's time for the fourth Rudolph Day challenge of the year - I can't believe how quickly time is flying by.  As my RD theme this year is 'Upcycling' I've used a tiny Rudolph image and some red shiny card that have been upcycled from two Christmas cards.

I die cut the Rudolph image with a stitched die and then layered it onto a shiny red square that had been die cut and embossed around the edge.  The tiny topper was then attached to the centre of the card.

To make this card I used:
     4" x 4" white hammer card blank
Lawn Fawn 'Outside In Stitched Square Stackables' and Spellbinders Nestabilities 'Classic Squares Large' dies
     Kars tan embossing mat
Tiny Rudolph image and shiny red card (upcycled from two Christmas cards)

Cross Stitch Vintage Car Keyring

This Mouseloft 'Vintage Car' cross stitch kit was another gift I received in the Easter cross stitch swap.  After stitching the car I trimmed around the edge of the design and placed it inside an acrylic keyring.

Thinking of You

Today's card is another 'Thinking of You' card - it's probably a sign of the times but I sold this card as soon as it was listed on Folksy.

I die cut the Prim Poppy from white card and coloured it with a red and green Promarker.  I put the card blank into my MISTI and lay the poppy onto it so I could see where to position the sentiment.  After removing the poppy I stamped the sentiment a couple of times to give a good depth of colour.  To finish I then attached the poppy to the card.

To make this card I used:
     6" x 6" white hammer card blank
     Memory Box 'Prim Poppy' die
     Clearly Besotted 'Fancy Sayings' stamp
     Versafine Olympia green ink
     Red and Dark Green Promarkers

Vintage Boy

A friend saw the 'Vintage Boy' birthday card I recently made and asked me to make one for her father.  I didn't have the same image, but I used another image from the Art Pad.

I die cut the precoloured image with a rectangle die, die cutting from both ends so I could elongate the shape.  I then die cut 'DAD' from the upper corner and set the pieces aside.  I trimmed a piece of wood effect paper so it was slightly smaller than the card blank and attached it to a thin piece of white card.  I then die cut an elongated rectangle from the centre, ensuring it was the same size as my topper.  I attached the frame to the card and inlaid the image.  I die cut 'DAD' from a snippet of the wood effect paper and inlaid it into the card.

To make this card I used:
     7" x 5" white matt card blank
Lili of the Valley 'Vintage Boys' Art Pad image
My Favorite Things 'Inside & Out Stitched Rectangle STAX Die-namics' and Creative Expressions 'From the Heart - Male Relations' dies
Papermania 'Capsule Elements - Wood' paper
     Snippets of white matt card

Cross Stitch Meerkat Keyring

I took part in an Easter cross stitch swap and one of the gifts I received was a Mouseloft 'Meerkat' cross stitch kit.  The yellow lines on the design should have been longer, but as I wanted to make a keyring I adjusted their length to fit the acrylic keyring.

Isabella Butterfly

I made this card for a friend's birthday - someone who doesn't like 'girlie' colours.

I covered the front of the card blank with purple and teal patterned paper leaving a border around the edge.  I die cut 'Happy Birthday' from white hammer card and attached it across the bottom of the card, lining up the edges with the paper.  I die cut 'Happy Birthday' from dark purple pearlescent card and inlaid the letters.  To finish, I die cut a butterfly from dark purple pearlescent card and attached it above the sentiment.

To make this card I used:
     6" x 4" white hammer card blank
Memory Box 'Grand Happy Birthday' and Memory Box 'Isabella Butterfly' dies
Snippets of Lili of the Valley ''Antebellum' paper, dark purple pearlescent card and white hammer card

Hope and Chances Charity Kit - April 2021

The April Hope and Chances Charity Kit is being sold to support Tiggiwinkles, the world's busiest wildlife hospital.

The kit has everything to make a lovely Spring card, other than gems and foam tape.  Full instructions are included with the kit and, for once, I made the card following Christine's instructions and didn't make any changes.

The sentiment was already stamped onto the panel so I attached it to the front of the card.  I cut the oval decorative tag in half and fixed it behind the pierced tag before attaching it to the front of the card with foam tape.  The bird table and bird were than attached to the centre of the panel with foam tape.  The flowers were attached in the lower corner of the die cuts and I added small transparent shimmering dots to the centre of the flowers.

Hello

This is another notecard I made with paper from my Vintage Artistry paper pad - this card was to send with a cross stitch swap.

I trimmed the paper so I had the flowers in the lower corner of the card and then die cut 'hello' from the upper corner.  I layered the panel onto green textured card and attached it to the card front.  I die cut 'hello' from green card and inlaid it, together with the small pieces of the pink paper.

I then used the pink 'hello' I had cut from the card to seal the tissue paper I used to wrap my swap gift.

To make this card I used:
     6" x 4" white matt card blank
     Altenew 'Simply Hello' die
49th and Market 'Vintage Artisry - Blush' paper
     Green textured card

Happy Mail

I like to keep a supply of notecards to send with gifts and swaps and made this one with a couple of small snippets of a lovely Vintage Artistry pad.

I die cut two squares from snippets paper - one of the squares had a butterfly in the corner and the other had a plainer background.  I put the plain square into my MISTI and placed the stamp in the centre before stamping it with black ink.  I used wet glue to attach the squares to the card to give me some 'wriggle room' and ensure they were level.  To finish I used a silver gel pen to colour the paper aeroplane on the sentiment.

To make this card I used:
     5" x 5" white hammer card blank
Practical Publishing 'The Best of Cardmaking Magic' stamp
Lawn Fawn 'Outside In Stitched Square Stackables' die
     Versafine Onyx Black ink
     Silver gel pen
Snippets of 49th and Market 'Vintage Artistry in Blush' paper

Cross Stitch 'A' Notebook

I made this notebook for a cross stitch swap where we had to stitch our swap partner's initial onto a notebook.  I had previously used these Framecraft initial charts for a cross stitch trinket dish and decided to use them for this notebook.  Although I liked the lilac initial and flowers they didn't really stand out in the design so I backstitched them in the dark purple thread.

After finishing the stitching I die cut two scalloped circles, one in dark purple and one in lilac textured card.  I die cut the aperture in the darker circle with a plain circle die and used a scalloped die for the lilac circle.  The two coloured frames were layered and the cross stitch mounted at the rear of the frame before being attached to the notebook with strong tape.

If Friends Were Flowers ...

I made this card to send to Greta for the March Card Chain Challenge using the Theme Options (Spring, Women and Friendship).

I trimmed a piece of dark brown card so it was slightly smaller than the card blank and them trimmed a piece of patterned paper so it was slightly smaller than the brown card.  I attached the patterned paper to a piece of white card and then die cut a stitched circle from the left side.  I placed the paper into my MISTI and stamped the sentiment in the lower corner.  The panel was layered onto the brown card and attached to the card blank.  I die cut the precoloured Lili of the Valley image with the stitched circle and inlaid it into the front of the card.

To make this card I used:
     7" x 5" white matt card blank
Lili of the Valley 'Best Friends' Art Pad
My Favorite Things 'Inside & Out Stitched Circle STAX Die-namics' die
     Crafter's Companion 'Sweet Florals' stamps
     Versafine Vintage Sepia ink
Lili of the Valley 'Antebellum' paper
     Dark brown textured card
