Decorating LeAnn

It's time for a new challenge at Winter Wonderland and this month we have an 'Anything Christmas Goes' challenge.  We are sponsored by LeAnns World 101 who are offering the winner two digi stamps from their online shop.

I'm entering the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown 'Colouring' challenge. Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas Challenge 'Use some patterned paper' and the Holly and Ivy Christmas Challenge 'Anything Christmas Goes'.

Card blank: 6" x 6" white silk
Stamp: LeAnn's World 101 'Decorating LeAnn' digi
Die: Spellbinders Nestabilities 'Lacy Squares'
Embossing: Kars tan embossing mat
Colouring: Faber-Castell Colour Grip Pencils
Card: White silk
Paper: Wild Rose Studio 'Annabelle's Christmas' (magazine freebie)

I trimmed the paper and attached it to the card blank leaving a white margin around the edge.  I resized the digi and printed it on to white card before colouring it with coloured pencils to match the Baubles in the backing paper.  I die cut and embossed the panel before attaching it to the centre of the card with craft foam to give some dimension.

Smile and Be Happy

Another of my quick notecards (I do like to keep a few of these in my card box) and this one has been made for the If You Give a Crafter a Cookie challenge (I was inspired by the cat and the colour pink).  I'm also entering A Gem of a Challenge 'One for the Girls/Ladies' and Crafty Hazelnut's Patterned Paper Challenge.

Card blank: 6" x 4" white matt
Image: Lili of the Valley 'Lili's Die Cuts Kitties'
Stamp: From the Heart Sentiment Stamps (magazine freebie)
Ink: Versafine Onyx Black
Card: Black matt
Paper: Lili of the Valley 'Heartfelt'
Other: Pink enamel dots

I trimmed the pink paper and layered it onto black card.  The kitten was already die cut but had a thick white border so I fussy cut leaving a small white border around the edge.  I put the panel into my MISTI and laid the kitten on top so I could line up my stamp.  After removing the kitten I stamped the sentiment onto the paper and then attached the panel to the card front.  I shaped the kitten and attached it with Pinflair glue down the centre to give some dimension.  To finish I added three small enamel dots to the top corner of the card.

Snippets: Gold mirri, red matt, green matt and white matt card

I embossed a square of white card before layering it onto gold mirri and attaching it to the centre of the card blank.  I die cut the sentiment from gold mirri and attached it to the lower part of the card.  I die cut and embossed two large poinsettias from red card and one from green card.  I shaped the die cuts before gluing them together.  I die cut the holly berries from gold mirri and glued them to the centre of the poinsettia.  I die cut two holly sprigs from dark green card and snipped the ends from both sprigs.  The snipped ends were then glued to the back of the poinsettia flower before being attached to the top corner of the card.

Quick and Easy Money Wallet

It's time for a new challenge at Christmas Crafts All Year Round and this month we want to see 'Anything But a Card'.  I tend to give money to the teenage members of our families so they can have fun choosing their own gift, so I need quick and easy money wallets.

Money wallets are also a great way to use some of my snippets mountain, so I'm heading into the playground at Pixie's Crafty Workshop.

Dies: Creative Dies 'Elegant Reindeer' (magazine freebie)
Ink: Versafine Crimson Red
Snippets:  Dark red hammer card, gold and brown pearlescent card,, Lili of the Valley 'Classic Christmas' paper

I trimmed a piece of red card to measure 7½ inches x 6½inches.  I scored the card at 2 inches and 5 inches on the short edge and ½ inch on the longer sides.  I cut away the corners before folding the flaps inside the wallet.  I folded the bottom edge and marked the sides of the flaps before cutting them level with the bottom flap. I trimmed snippets of paper to cover the front, back and inside flap of the wallet.  I coloured the edges of the papers with Crimson Red Ink before attaching them.  I attached strong red tape to the flaps and folded the bottom over to make the wallet.  To make the belly band I cut a strip of red card to wrap around the wallet and used red tape to fasten it.  I then cut two small snippets of holly paper into oblongs, coloured the edged with Crimson Red ink and attached these on the front and the back of the band.  I die cut the reindeer from gold pearlescent card and attached it to the lower edge of the belly band.  I die cut the antlers, swirl and bow from brown pearlescent card and used Tacky glue to attach them.
