It's Always Gin O'Clock

One of my friends reckons 'it's always gin o'clock' so I thought this design would make a perfect birthday card for her.

To make this card I used:
     6.25" x 5.5" white matt card blank
Durene Jones 'It's Always Gin O'Clock' cross stitch chart
My Favorite Things 'Inside & Out Stitched Rectangle STAX Die-namics' die
     White 14 count aida
     DMC threads
Snippet of bright blue textured card

I stitched the design and measured it so I could make the frame for the front of the card.  The rectangle die was the right width but too long for the completed stitching so I die cut the first half in a snippet of bright blue card and then moved the die to stitch the second half so it was the right size.  The cross stitch was then attached behind the frame and then onto the front of the card blank.

I am entering the following challenges:

Love to Craft - Anything Goes
Try It On Tuesday - Feeling Blue

Kath: Marvelous to do the counted cross-stitch work and then make it the focal for a friendship card! Thanks for sharing this at Ally's Angels! ~~ Becca (and if interested, beverages of any kind can always be shared with the anything food and/or kitchen related theme at FarmQuest HomeStyle Kitchen Challenges! yep! even gin!...and it also would work for the current challenge at FarmQuest Grocery Game Challenges because beverages are part of the same store aisle with cooking liquids, sauces, gravies, etc.) It would be great to have your artistry shared there, too.

Love the beautifully cross stitched image-can't even stand the smell of gin since I got drunk on it on my 18th many many moons ago-port o'clock for me lol.

Love it!!!
This is fantastic Kath - your friend is going to be over the moon to receive this - and I bet she will frame it and hang it on her wall .. .. I know I would.
Quite partial to the odd G&T myself .. .. but don't recall ever having one with breakfast so not sure I totally agree with it "always being Gin o'clock" LOL!!!
Love and hugs

OMG this is gorgeous and deserves to be put in a frame. I have no patience for stitching and am always in awe of those who do. Fabulous piece - thanks for sharing with us at Love to Craft challenge
