Cross Stitch Summer Garland

I took several cross stitch kits away with me our our last campervan 'adventure' as they're quick and easy for me to stitch in the evenings.  This design was a DMC kit for handbag mirror which should have been stitched on 18hpi.  I find it hard to stitch on 8hpi fabric, especially if the light isn't too good, so I changed the fabric to 14hps and made the design into a card.  The cross stitch was attached to the rear of a frame made from stitched square and circle frames.

I think these cross-stitch cards are a wonderful idea and this one is very beautiful, Kath! The circle inside the square stitched frames work perfectly to showcase the circular flower spray. I can just see you cross-stitching in the evening as the night draws into the campervan ~ peaceful! Hugs, Darnell

Such pretty cross stitch Kath, these DMC kits make lovely pieces for cards and a great idea to change the aida so that it is easier to see the holes. I have had a piece of cross stitch which hubby bought for me many years ago and which I tried to finish, but it is so fine I just can't do it now as it is such a strain on the eyes, so I'm afraid it will never be finished. x
