Congratulations!

I made this card for a wedding anniversary for a friend who loves bling.   I'm entering this card into this week's Less is More challenge which is 'Anything Goes'.  The peel-offs and gems are all from my 'oddments' tray so I'm also visiting the playground at Pixie's Crafty Workshop.

Woodware heart peel-offs
Sentiment peel-off
Gems

One of the heart peel-offs was attached to the card front, the second was attached to a scrap of card and cut out.  Gems were attached to both hearts and the second heart was attached with foam tape.  To finish, I attached a peel-off sentiment.

I'm blogging again!

I haven't really been on holiday for a year!

For various reasons I've not had a lot of time over the past year and blogging was one of the things that I decided to stop for a while.   Things have hopefully calmed down now and I'm back to cardmaking and blogging.

More posts to follow soon!

On holiday!

I was hoping to make some more cards this week, but time has gone so quickly getting ready for our holiday this weekend.   I've got my Promarkers packed and also my Zentangle kit - just in case the weather's bad.

Back in two weeks!

Christmas presents

I made this card for this week's Winter Wonderland challenge which is 'Christmas Presents' and also for the 52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown challenge 'sequins and/or pearls'.  All the papers and embellishments are from my snippets drawer, so I'm also in Pixie's Crafty Snippets Playground.

Upcycled Christmas cards
Gold mirri card
Blue and pink papers
Gold pearls
Gold sparkly ribbon

I layered blue papers to gold mirri card, covering the join with pink paper and a strip of gold sparkly ribbon, before attaching it to a dark blue card blank.   The image and sentiment were upcycled from last year's Christmas cards and attached to the card with foam tape.  To finish, I attached gold pearls to the top and bottom of the card.

Christmas Wishes

I can't believe it's been two weeks since I last posted to my blog.   My first card is for this week's 52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown challenge 'Christmas Ornaments' and I made it by following this week sketch at Freshly Made Sketches.

Woodware 'Bubble Wreath' stamp
Unknown sentiment stamp (had been a magazine freebie)
Silver mirri card
Blue and red papers
Versafine Majestic Blue ink
Clear embossing powder
Dark blue ribbon
Silver Stickles
Gems

I attached blue paper to silver mirri and covered the join with a strip of red paper - this was then attached to the card front.   The Christmas ornaments and sentiment were stamped with Versafine and embossed with clear embossing powder.   I glued strips of ribbon from the top of each ornament and fastened them to the back of the card, before layering it to a piece of silver mirri and attaching it to the card front.  The sentiment was layered onto silver mirri and attached to the card front with foam tape.  I used assorted gems and silver Stickles to decorate the ornaments.  To finish, I made small bows and attached them to the to of the ornaments.

I die cut the image and attached it to a scalloped circle of gold mirri card.  Red snowflake paper was layered onto gold mirri and attached to the card front.  The image was attached to the centre with foam pads.  To finish, I attached three gold gems to the top right and three to the bottom left of the card.

Best Wishes

Jackie Rockwell has designed the sketch for this week's CAS(E) this Sketch challenge.  As my card uses oddments from my snippets drawer, I'm paying another visit to Pixie's Crafty Snippets Playground.

Floral paper and three matching chipboard circles (magazine freebie)
Three upcycled buttons from an old cardigan
Black Woodware peel-off greeting

Following the sketch, I trimmed the floral paper and attached it to the card blank.   The chipboard circles were fastened to the buttons and attached to the card blank.  To finish, I added a black peel-off greeting.
