Blackwork Christmas Tree Decoration

My non-cardmaking item this week is a blackwork Christmas decoration.  Whilst looking in a local charity shop I found a small blackwork kit that had been a cover gift with a magazine and was being sold for 75p.   The frame was part of a 'pre-loved' set of frames I bought a while ago and the ribbon I had previously snipped from inside a jumper.  Thrifty crafting at its best!

This was the first time I'd ever done blackwork and really enjoyed making this decoration.  I found blackwork even more addictive than cross stitch so I'm sure I will be making more decorations soon!

This is really pretty Kath and the blackwork is so elegant inside the frame. I have done quite a lot of blackwork in the past and I did a large cat which my aunt had in a frame on her bedroom wall for many years. I know what you mean, it can be quite addictive. x

Hi Kath, Now that is lovely. I could imagine it in all different colours on the tree.

Hope you have had a nice weekend. Sue
