Kaleidoscope Butterfly

I made this card for the Butterfly Challenge 'K is for Kraft and/or Kaleidoscope' - the flowers remind me of the tiny beads that used to be in my kaleidoscope when I was young!  I bought the Happy Birthday die ages ago and this is the first time it's seen light of day, so I'm heading across to join Darnell's NBUS challenge.  I'm also entering Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenge 'Anything Goes, Cardz 4 Gals 'Butterflies or Dragonflies' and Seize the Birthday 'Anything Goes' challenges.  The card is all from my snippets drawer so I'm off to see Di in the playground at Pixie's Crafty Workshop.

Card blank: 7" x 7" kraft
Die: Crafts-Too Presscut 'Happy Birthday', Tattered Lace 'Mini Butterfly'
Snippets: Pink floral butterfly. pink and kraft card

I trimmed the pink floral butterfly card, layered it onto pink card and attached it to the centre of the card.  I die-cut Happy Birthday from both pink and kraft card, attaching the pink above the kraft to give a shadow effect.  This was then attached to the top corner of the card to balance the butterfly in the lower corner.  I die-cut a butterfly from a teeny snippet of the flower card and attached it above the sentiment.

Super card Kath and pretty colours. You talking about kaleidoscopes reminded me of my mum. She loved them and we always got one at Christimas - for her benefit I suspect! Christine xx

This is beautiful, Kath! I love the colours! I have not been able to figure out this butterfly challenge theme - the kraft part is easy but the kaleidoscope has eluded me. I love what you've done here and thank you for the inspiration - I will need to think on this one a while longer!

This is really pretty in pink and goes beautifully with the kraft card Kath, and the itsy bitsy floral in the background does indeed look kaleidoscopic. I love the added floral butterfly and TL die cut butterfly and the great sized die cut sentiment is a great finishing touch. x

Love this card Kath. Really like that sentiment die. The font is quite unusual. Love the beautiful butterfly and yes the background on the card does look a lot like the beads in the base of the kaleidoscope tube we had a children. Mine kept me fascinated for hours.(I came out of the supermarket this morning and nearly tripped over a little boy couldn't have been more than about 5/6yrs old standing on the path engrossed in his smart phone. Aren't they supposed to learn how to read and write first or am I missing the point somewhere along the line!!!). Thankyou for fluttering by my challenge where your card will be entered twice. Hugs Mrs A.

Fabulous card Kath! Love the kaleidoscope effect you achieved and you reminded me that I've got that fabulous Happy Birthday die as yet unused here. It's such a statement die and you used it beautifully with the wonderful backing paper and butterflies!

Great to see you in the playground!

Hugs

Di xx

Aaaahhh, this is so magnificent, Kath! It is totally fabulous for the kaleidoscope challenge with those colorful teeny flowers! I used to play with one of those toys for hours as a kid! The offset sediment die and the sweet die-cut butterfly are perfect features to round out the pretty design!! Thank you so much for playing in my NBUS Challenge #7!! Hugs, Darnell
