March Rudolph Day

It's time for another Rudolph Day and another cross stitch Christmas card (cross stitch cards are my RD theme this year).  Lynne (Lynne's Craft Haven) contacted me after I posted my February RD card to offer me some Christmas cross stitch magazines.  Not only did Lynne post me several magazines, but she also sent me some cross stitch kits - this cute 'Merry Christmas from Boofle' kit was one of them.  Thank you Lynne!

To make this card I used:
     5" x 5" cream hammer card blank
Cross Stitch Card Shop 'Merry Christmas from Boofle' cross stitch kit
My Favorite Things 'Inside & Out Stitched Square STAX Die-namics' die
     Snippet of cream hammer card

The kit contained a patterned card for the cross stitch to be patched.  However, I wanted to place the design behind an aperture so I used the patterned card for another project and die cut a stitched square aperture in the centre of the card blank.  The completed stitching was fastened to the rear of the aperture and a snippet of cream card inserted inside the card to cover the back of the stitching.

Patchwork Daisy Birthday

I made this card for my great niece's birthday - I tried to find an image that was cute but not too childish as she's a grown up ten year old!

To make this card I used:
     6" x 6" white matt card blank
Lili of the Valley 'Patchwork Daisy' Mini Masterpiece precoloured image
Clearly Besotted 'Modern Calligraphy' stamps and coordinating die
Lawn Fawn 'Outside In Stitched Square Stackables' die
     Versafine Imperial Purple ink
Wild Rose Studio 'Anabelle's Meadow' paper
Snippet of white matt card and white paper

I attached the pink paper to a piece of white paper (to make it the same thickness as the topper) before die cutting the stitched square from the centre.  The frame was then attached to the card.  The precoloured image was cut with the same stitched die.  I used purple ink to stamp 'happy' onto a snippet of white card before cutting it with the corodinating die.  I placed the topper into my MISTI and laid 'happy' on top so I could see where to stamp 'birthday'.  This was stamped with the same purple ink.  The topper was inlaid into the frame and 'happy' was attached with a strip of foam tape.

Happy Anniversary

I've made another anniversary card using my Peek-a-Boo heart die.  When I made my previous anniversary card I inlaid the heart with dark red card but this time I've used a snippet of pink and red marbled paper.  I've also used a different sentiment as I thought the sentiment on the first card was a little small.

To make this card I used:
     6"  x 6" white hammer card blank
My Favorite Things 'Peek a Boo Striped Heart' die
     Hobby Art 'General Greetings' stamp
     Versafine Crimson Red ink
Cosmic Shimmer Clear Detail Embossing powder
     Woodware Corner Rounder punch
Snippets of white hammer, thin white card and marbled paper

I trimmed the snippet of white hammer card so it was slightly smaller than the card blank and rounded the corners before die cutting the heart from the centre.  I placed the panel into my MISTI so I could ensure the sentiment stamp was in the right place.  I stamped the sentiment with red ink, stamping a couple of times to get a good depth of colour, before embossing it with clear embossing powder.  The panel was then attached to the front of the card blank.  I attached the snippet of marbled paper to a piece of thin white card so it was the same thickness as the front panel.  I then die cut the heart and inlaid the strips into the heart.

Butterfly Notecard

I've recently made a few small notecards to send with some cross stitch RAK gifts.  I've made them in different colours so they coordinate with the colours of the items I'm sending - this card is also perfect for the current Butterfly Challengee.

To make this card I used:
     4" x 4" white matt card blank
     Craft Stamper 'Butterfly Post' stamp
Lawn Fawn 'Outside In Stitched Stitched Square Stackables' die
     Versafine Deep Lagoon ink
Cosmic Shimmer Clear Detail Embossing Powder
     Promarkers
     Snippet of white matt card

I used the stitched die to emboss a square in the front of the card blank.  I then stamped the image onto a snippet of white matt card and embossed it with clear embossing powder.  I coloured the background with an ivory Promarker and the butterfly with a pale green Promarker.  The stamped panel was then trimmed and attached to the centre of the card with foam pads.

I am entering the following challenges:
Butterfly Challenge - Spin the Wheel with T (I have used Teal & Tea Green with my butterfly)

     6" x 6" white hammer card blank
Carolyn's Garden 'Bluebells' cross stitch kit
Lawn Fawn 'Outside In Stitched Square Stackables' die
     Snippet of white hammer card

After completing the stitching I mounted the design behind a stitched square aperture that had been die cut in the centre of the card blank.  A piece of the same card was attached to the inside to cover the back of the stitching.

Enjoy your Day

This card is made with an upcycled birthday card - the floral image had been attached with foam pads onto a large birthday card giving a 3D effect.  I carefully removed the pretty topper to make a card for a friend's forthcoming birthday.

To make this card I used:
     7" x 5" white matt card blank
     Upcycled birthday card
     Tattered Lace 'Mini Butterfly' die
Snippets of dark green card, pink pearlescent card and Lili of the Valley 'Beach Bliss' paper

I trimmed the green paper, layered it onto a snippet of dark green card and attached it to the front of the card blank.  After carefully removing the topper from the original birthday card, I removed all the foam tape from the back and applied thin foam tape to attach it to the centre of the card.  To finish I die cut a small butterfly from a tiny snippet of pink pearlescent card and attached it to the card.

I am entering the following challenges:
Butterfly Challenge - Spin the Wheel with the Letter T (I have used Tea Green, Thistle and Tango Pink on my card, plus my butterfly)
     Daisy Chain Challenge - Flowers

Black and Silver Christmas Tree

My 'White' Christmas card was the winner of the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown challenge and I was delighted to be invited as Guest Designer on the latest Colour Challenge - this challenge is 'Black and Silver'.

To make this card I used:
     C6 white hammer card blank
Memory Box 'Sparkling Tree Tile' die
Snippets of white hammer card, black textured card and silver mirri card

I trimmed a snippet of white hammer card so it was slightly smaller than the card blank and die cut the tree from the centre.  I then used Artist Tac to attach a snippet of black textured card behind the aperture.  The panel was then attached to the card blank.  I die cut the tree from a snippet of silver mirri card and inlaid the baubles into the card.

Red, White & Green Birthday

I made this card for the Seize the Birthday 'Red, White Plus One Colour' challenge and I've chosen green as my third colour.

To make this card I used:
     6" x 6" white hammer card blank
     Memory Box 'Wild Blooms' die
     Clearly Besotted 'Fabulous Fuchsias' stamp
     Versafine Olympia Green ink
Snippets of white hammer card, dark green plain card and dark red pearlescent card

I trimmed a snippet of white hammer card and die cut the 'Wild Blooms' from the left side.  I placed the panel into my MISTI to position the sentiment stamp which was then stamped in dark green ink.  The panel was layered onto a snippet of dark green card and attached to the card blank.  I used another snippet of dark green card to cut the stems and inlaid them into the panel.  The blooms were cut from snippets of dark red pearlescent card and inlaid into the card.

Happy Birthday To You

I first saw this lovely Lawn Fawn die on Di's blog and then saw it again on Sarn's blog so decided to buy it as I thought it would be perfect for so many cards, especially male cards where I often lack inspiration.  I made this card is for my uncle's birthday.

To make this card I used:
    6" x 6" cream hammer card blank
Lawn Fawn 'Giant Happy Birthday to You' die
Snippets of cream hammer card, brown card and Lili of the Valley 'Galaxy Stars' paper

I trimmed a snippet of green star paper, layered it onto brown card and attached it to the card blank.  I die cut the sentiment from both brown card and cream textured card.  I used Artist Tac to attach the brown sentiment onto the cream one, offsetting it so it created a shadow before attaching it to the centre of the card.
