Yacht Race

This is another small notecard I've stitched whilst away in our campervan - the design is 'Yacht Race' by Mouseloft.  After completing the cross stitch I made a frame from square and circle stitched dies before attaching the panel to the front of the card blank.

April Rudolph Day

It's Rudolph Day again - time is flying by, where is this year going?   My Rudolph Day theme this year is to use items that have been cover gifts with magazines.  This card uses an 'Opulent Baubles' set that was a cover gift a Practical Publishing magazine - although I can't recall which one.

I embossed a piece of white card and trimmed the edges before attaching it to the card blank - the embossing folder had also die cut the bauble shape from the embossed panel.  I attached a snippet of green marbled paper onto a snippet of card and stamped the bauble with black ink before embossing it with clear embossing powder.  I placed the bauble into the embossing folder and die cut it before inlaying it into the card.  I stamped the bow onto a snippet of green textured card using black ink and then embossed it with clear embossing powder.  To finish I fussy cut the bow and attached it to the top of the bauble.

To make this card I used:
     6" x 4" white matt card blank
Practical Publishing 'Opulent Baubles' embossing folder and dies
     Versafine  Onyx Black ink
Cosmic Shimmer Clear Detail embossing powder
Snippets of green marbled paper, green textured card and white matt card

Gold Bauble

I made this gold bauble for the Perfectly CAS challenge using lots of teeny snippets of gold mirri and gold pearlescent card.

I die cut a stitched rectangle from a snippet of white hammer card and attached it to the card blank.  I die cut the Cabrini Ornament from both gold mirri and gold pearlescent card - embossing the pearlescent bauble so the veins in the leaves were prominent.  I then attached the mirri bauble to the card blank and inlaid the pearlescent pieces.  I die cut the Crisp Bow from gold mirri, snipped the tail from the bow and attached it to the top of the ornament.

To make this card I used:
     5.5" x 4.25" white matt card blank
Memory Box 'Cabrini Ornament' and 'Crisp Bows' dies
Snippets of white hammer card, gold mirri and gold pearlescent card

Go Wild

I made this card for my father-in-law's forthcoming birthday.  He doesn't have any hobbies, but he does like wildlife so I thought this Hunkydory image would work well for his card.

I trimmed a piece of the coloured card, layered it onto gold mirri and attached it to the card front.  I used foam pads to assemble the decoupage layers before attaching the panel to the centre of the card.  I die cut '80' from gold mirri and attached the numbers at the bottom of the panel.  To finish I added a small sentiment topper at the top of the panel, sliding it under the foliage.

To make this card I used:
     6" x 6" white matt card blank
Hunkydory 'Perfect Planet Go Wild' Deco-Large topper and card
     Memory Box 'Classic Numbers' dies
     Snippets of gold mirri

Iris Cross Stitch Birthday Card

This card was made with a Derwentwater Designs cross stitch card kit I've recently bought from ebay. - although it was sold as pre-loved the kit was complete, including the card and envelope.

After completing the stitching I attached the stitching inside the tri-fold card that was included in the kit.

Just Wanted to Say ...

I made this notecard to send to a friend with a small gift - the gift was in shades of blue, cream and white so I wanted to make a card in the same colours.  The butterfly strip was one of the many items I chose from 'WOWVOW' when I spent the gift voucher I won in the Allsorts challenge.

I trimmed the strip of marbled paper and layered it onto purple card.  The butterfly strip had a plain band across the top which I snipped off and fussy cut around the top of the butterflies and flowers before attaching the panel across the marbled paper.  I placed the card blank into my MISTI and laid the panel across the card so I could line up the sentiment.  I removed the strip and stamped the sentiment in dark blue ink - as it looked a little too bright I overstamped it in purple ink so it matched the colours in the marbled paper.  To finish I attached the butterfly strip across the card.

To make this card I used:
     6" x 4" white hammer card blank
     Decoratif Papillon Pearlescent Ivory strip
     Hobby Art 'General Greetings' stamp
Versafine Majestic Blue and Imperial Purple inks
Snippets of blue marbled paper and purple card

Hello

When Hilary sent me my Card Chain Challenge card she also enclosed the pink die cut from her card which I've used for this notecard.

I trimmed around the edge of the pink die cut, layered it onto a snippet of dark maroon, blue and grey marbled paper and attached it to the card  I attached another snippet of the marbled paper to a piece of white card and die cut hello.  I also die cut 'hello' twice from white card.  I layered the two white die cuts and attached them to the bottom of the card before attaching the marbled die cut, slightly offset to create a shadow.

To make this card I used:
     6" x 4" white matt card blank
Lisa Horton 'Background Collection Solar Circles' p
ink die cut panel (thanks for the die details Liz)
     A
ltenew 'Simply Hello' die
Snippets of white card and marbled paper

Friends are the Best Gifts

This is the card I made for Tina for the March Card Chain Challenge.  I used the Colour Option (Green, Pink & Brown), the Theme Option (Friendship) and the Product Option (Patterned Paper).

I trimmed my last snippet of the lovely pink Antebellum paper and layered it onto brown textured card.  I placed the panel into my MISTI and stamped the sentiment in brown ink before embossing it with clear embossing powder. The panel was then attached to the front of the card.  To finish I die cut two small brown butterflies and attached them alongside the sentiment.

To make this card I used:
     5" x 5" white matt card blank
     Tattered Lace 'Mini Butterflies' dies
Practical Publishing 'Stamps for All Occasions' sentiment stamp
     Versafine Vintage Sepia ink
Cosmic Shimmer Clear Detail Embossing Powder
Snippets of Lili of the Valley 'Antebellum' paper and brown textured card
