You're How Old?

I made this card for my uncle's 70th birthday and am entering the Allsorts 'Sentiment in Focus', Winter Wonderland 'Must use a Sentiment' and Seize the Birthday 'Anything Goes' challenges.  The papers were all from my snippets drawer, so I'm also popping across to the playground at Pixie's Crafty Workshop.

Card blank: 8" x 6" white silk tent fold
Stamp: Woodware 'Numbers'
InK: Memento Rich Cocoa
Colouring: Promarker - Blush
Other: Wink of Stella
Snippets: White card, brown, green, maroon and stripe papers

I layered a piece of maroon paper onto green paper and attached it to the card front. I stamped the numbers across a snippet of white card and added the extra sentiments above and below.  This was trimmed slightly and a strip of stripe paper was attached to the top and bottom.  This was then layered onto more strips of brown paper before being attached to the card front.  I coloured the numbers with a Blush Promarker and then paper pieced the '7' and '0' from maroon paper.  To finish, I highlighted the paper pieced numbers with a Wink of Stella.

Another Zoo Animal

I've made another card for the Alphabet Challenge 'Z for Zoo Animals' using some pre-coloured Lili of the Valley Jungle Cuddlies toppers and papers.  I'm also entering the Allsorts 'Birthday Wishes', Seize the Birthday 'Anything Goes' and Becky's Place February challenges.

February Rudolph Day

A big 'thank you' to ScrappyMo for inviting me to be part of her Rudolph Day Challenge Design Team for February, April and June.  This is my card for the first challenge using a cute pre-coloured Lili of the Valley topper (I love these images) and a co-ordinating paper.

Card blank: 7" x 5" white silk tent fold

Butterfly Post

The latest Butterfly Challenge is 'S for Stamping and/or Sapphire' and I've made this small notelet using both stamping and various shades of blue.  I'm also entering Becky's Place February challenge.

Card blank: 5" x 5" white silk

Card:  Turquoise mirri and white silk

I embossed a square of white card with the Swiss Dots embossing folder, layered it onto turquoise mirri (I didn't have any dark blue mirri and my thrifty crafting year is making me use what I have before I buy any more!) then attached this to the card front.  The image was stamped onto white silk card, embossed with clear embossing powder before I punched a square.  I coloured the background of the stamp with a lemon pencil and the butterfly with dark blue, pale blue and turquoise pencils before highlighting the wings with a Wink of Stella.  The image was layered onto a snippet of turquoise mirri card before being attached to the card front with Pinflair glue.

The current Seize the Birthday challenge is 'Cupcakes or Candy'.  I don't have any suitable stamps or dies, but found a card with cupcakes in my upcycling box which was perfect for my card.  I'm also entering the Allsorts 'Birthday Wishes' and the Memory Box 'Tickled Pink' challenges.

I won these cute dies and stamps from Di and have used them to make this card for the Cuttlebug Mania 'I {heart} you' challenge and the Alphabet Challenge 'Z is for Zoo Animals'.  I'm also popping over to the playground at Pixie's Crafty Workshop to show Di (and Sarn) what I've made!

I trimmed the pink paper, layered it onto dark pink card and attached it to the card front.  I then die cut and embossed a circle from white linen card and attached it to a scalloped die cut which I had previously cut for another card and not used.  Then the fun began!  I die cut the flamingos from snippets of pale pink (body and beaks), dark pink (wings), grey (legs and beaks) and black (eyes) card and attached them to the circle.  I die cut a heart from dark pink card and placed it between the flamingos.  This circle was then attached to the card.  I stamped the sentiment onto white linen card, trimmed it to size, layered it onto dark pink card and attached it with Pinflair glue.

Blue, Cream and Gold Christmas

The current 52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown challenge is 'Blue, Cream and Gold'.  These aren't colours I would normally use for a Christmas card, but this card is similar to a card I made before Christmas and I prefer these colours to the ones I originally used!  I'm entering the ABC Christmas Challenge 'D for Don't Overdo It' and Winter Wonderland 'Keep it Simple' challenges as well as over to the playground to see Sarn at Pixie's Crafty Workshop.

Card blank: 6" x 4" cream hammer tent fold

I die cut 'Merry Christmas' from blue pearl card, trimmed it to slightly smaller than the card blank and then added double sided tape to the rear before attaching it to the card blank.  I die cut the letters from gold mirri card and inlaid them.  The 'Garden Weave' was die cut and embossed from cream hammer card and attached to the upper corner.  I die cut and embossed the outer poinsettia leaves from gold mirri card and three smaller leaves from blue pearl card.  The leaves were shaped before being glued together and attached to the card front.  The poinsettia flowers were die cut from gold mirri card using the 'Mini Holly Leaves' dies and were attached them to the centre of the poinsettia.

White on White Birthday

Less is More is celebrating it's 5th birthday and the challenge is 'White on White' (accents in metallic or b/w are also acceptable) so I've made this quick and simple card for their challenge.  I'm also entering the Allsorts 'Clean and Simple challenge and as the card is made entirely from snippets I'm popping into the playground at Pixie's Crafty Workshop.

Card blank:  6" x 6" Snow White Centura Pearl
Dies: Crafty Ann 'Butterfly 7', Memory Box ' Grand Happy Birthday'
Snippets: Snow White Centura Pearl, silver holographic card (upcycled Christmas card tags)

I die cut Happy Birthday from pearl card and then attached snippets of holographic card behind the 'birthday' (this was a bit of a patchwork as the card is from upcycled gift tags!).  I then attached the sentiment to the card front with double sided tape to give a 3D effecct.  I die cut the butterfly from another snippet of pearl card and attached the smallest snippet of holographic card behind the butterfly body before gluing it to the card front.

Lots of Snippets

Having seen Di's snippets card last week, I decided to make this card using some silver die cuts left over from a Cuttlebug workshop I went to about three years ago!  The Chloe stems had been die cut for another project and not used,so I managed to use lots of snippets for this thrifty card for Pixie's Crafty Workshop challenge.

Card blank: 6" x 6" white silk
Stamp: Woodware 'Going to Seed'
Dies: Cuttlebug 'Celebration Stamp Square' and 'Vintage', Memory Box 'Chloe Stem'
Embossing: Cuttlebug 'Perfectly Paisley'
Ink: Versafine Crimson Red
Snippets: Red and white card, silver mirri card

I embossed snippets of white card with the Paisley folder and then die cut four squares.  I die cut one square from plain white card and stamped the sentiment into the centre.  I attached the white and silver squares onto a snippet of red card using Tombow Mono glue so I could move them to ensure they were all level.  The red panel was then trimmed, layered onto silver mirri card and attached to the card front.  To finish, I trimmed two Chloe stems and attached them to the card front.
