Nick the Gnome

Whilst tidying my Christmas papers I came upon this 'Nick the Gnome' image - perfect for the Butterfly Challenge 'Fairies' Gnomes, Pixies and Elves' (this time I've chosen gnome and Xmas Sparkle).  I'm also entering the Fab 'n' Funky Challenges 'Cute Christmas', the Holly and Ivy Christmas Challenge 'Anything Christmas Goes', Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas Challenge 'Any Christmas or New Year Card' and Crafty Hazelnut's Patterned Paper Challenge.

I trimmed the red star paper, layered it onto gold mirri and attached it to the centre of the card.  I trimmed the gnome image, layered it onto gold mirri and again attached it to the centre of the card.  To finish I highlighted the stars, lantern, and gnomes' hats and beards with a Wink of Stella.

Elf Christmas

I found this cute elf image in my upcycled Christmas card box - it was a DL size card that I've cut in half and it was already glittered.  I've used it to make a super quick card for the Butterfly Challenge 'Fairies, Gnomes, Pixies and Elves' (I've chosen the elf option with the Xmas Sparkle option too).  I'm also entering the Crafty Calendar Challenge 'It's Christmas Time', the ABC Christmas Challenge 'Z for Zero Embellishments' and Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas Challenge 'Anything Goes'.

Card blank: 6" x 4" cream embossed

Card: Red matt

I trimmed the Christmas card image around two of the elves, ensuring an equal margin between the image and the card blank.  This panel was then layered onto red card before being attached to the pre-embossed card front.

Merry Christmas!

No card from me today as we're away in our campervan for Christmas and are enjoying the festivities in Cirencester.

A very Merry Christmas to everyone and thank you all for visiting my blog and leaving lovely comments!

Just for You

I made this card for the Butterfly Challenge 'Fairies, Pixies, Gnomes and Elves' (and I've chosen another fairy image).  I'm also entering Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenge 'Anything Goes' and Crafty Hazelnut's Patterned Paper Challenge,

Card blank: 5" x 5" white matt
Stamps: The Fairy Collection (magazine freebie)
Ink: Memento Rich Cocoa
Card: Dark brown matt
Paper: Lili of the Valley 'Amtebellum'

I trimmed the pink paper leaving the flower on the right hand side.  I put the paper into my MISTI, lined up the fairy and sentiment stamps before stamping it several times to ensure a good depth of colour.  The paper was then layered onto dark brown card and attached to the card blank.

Meadow Lark

I love papers with large patterns as they don't require many embellishments to make cards and this one is no exception.  I've had the paper for ages and only now am finally taking it out of my drawer to use instead of looking at it!

I'm entering Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenge 'Anything Goes' and Crafty Hazelnut's Patterned Paper Challenge.

7" x 7" cream pearlescent card
Die: Crafts-Too Presscut 'Happy Birthday'
Paper: Prima Marketing 'Meadow Lark' (magazine freebie)
Card: Purple pearlescent

I trimmed the paper, layered it onto purple card and attached it to the centre of the card front.  I then die cut the sentiment and attached it so the curve followed the birds's head.  Quick and simple and I hope the recipient likes it!

Merry Christmas Mum

This is the Christmas card I made for my mother.  I'm entering the ABC Christmas Challenge 'Y is for Your Favourite Thing' (I love inlaid die cutting as I find it so relaxing), the Crafty Cardmakers 'Christmas' challenge, the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown 'Pick a Previous 2017 Challenge' (I've chosen the November 2017 Sketch Challenge) and the Happy Little Stampers Anything Goes With Dies challenge. All the card was from my snippets drawer so I'm also heading into the playground at Pixie's Crafty Workshop.

Card blank: 6" x 6" white matt
Dies: Creative Dies 'Festive Scene' (magazine freebie), Spellbinders Nestabilities 'Standard Circles Large'
Card: White matt
Other: Computer generated sentiment 'Copperplate Gothic Light' font
Snippets: Blue and gold pearlescent card, Marianne Design 'Snow Paper', blue speckled paper, white card

I printed the sentiment onto white card, trimmed the panel, layered it onto blue pearlescent card and attached it to the card front.  I die cut the Festive Scene from blue card and used Stick and Spray to glue it to a die cut blue circle before attaching it to the centre of the card.  I attached the blue speckled paper onto thin white card to make it the same thickness as the outline before die cutting the sky and inlaying it.  The snow and snowflakes were die cut from Snow Paper before being inlaid.  To finish I die cut the windows from gold card and inlaid them into the scene.

Last Tree in the Shop

It's time for the final Winter Wonderland challenge of the year and our theme is 'Anything Christmas Goes'.   We are sponsored by Dr Digi's House of Stamps who are offering the lucky winner two digis from their online store.

I'm entering the Alphabet Challenge 'S is for Season's Greetings', ABC Christmas Challenge 'Z is for Zero Embellishments', Cardz 4 Gals 'Non-traditional Christmas colours' challenge, the Merry Little Christmas Challenge 'Anything Christmas Goes' and the Holly and Ivy Christmas Challenge 'Anything Christmas Goes'.

Card blank: 7" x 5" white matt
Stamp: Dr Digi's House of Stamps 'Last Tree in the Shop' digi and Imagine That 'Snowman Trio'
Card: Purple pearlescent and white matt
Other: Wink of Stella

I resized the tree and sentiment digis and merged them in a Word document before printing onto white card.  I trimmed the panel and coloured the tree and baubles with Promarkers.  The panel was layered onto purple pearlescent card before being attached to the card front.  To finish I highlighted the star, baubles and sentiment with a Wink of Stella.

Magical Fairy

I made this card for the Butterfly Challenge 'Spin the Wheel with the Letter X' where Mrs A wants to see Fairies, Gnomes, Pixies or Elves (I've obviously chosen the Fairy option).  I'm also entering the Allsorts 'Fairies, Fantasy and Magical' challenge and Crafty Hazelnut's Patterned Paper Challenge.

Card blank: 6" x 6" white matt
Image: Lili of the Valley 'Magical Fairies' Art Pad
Die: Spellbinders Nestabilities 'Floral Oval'
Embossing: Kars tan embossing matt
Paper: Wild Rose Studio 'Blackberry Lane'
Other; Silver holographic Card Candi, Wink of Stella

As the paper had a plain centre and patterned edges I attached it to cover the whole card front so the leaves framed the card.  I die cut and embossed the precoloured fairy image and attached it to the centre.  I flattered the Card Candi and glued it to the top and bottom corners of the card.  To finish I highlighted the fairy with a Wink of Stella, adding several layers to the wings so they had the same shimmer as the Card Candi.

Sister

It's time for another challenge at Christmas Crafts All Year Round - the final one this year - and we have a nice easy challenge 'Anything Goes'.   I made a similar card for the September Rudolph Day Challenge and thought the design would be suitable for my sister so made this card mounting the panel onto a larger card blank and changing the die cut.

This is a scheduled post as we're away this weekend visiting our families (and exchanging Christmas presents and cards) so I'm not linking to any challenges this time.

Card blank: 5" x 5" white matt
Dies: All Occasion Dies 'Small Poinsettia', Creative Expressions From the Heart 'Female Relatives, Memory Box 'Mini Holly Leaves', Festive Wishes Holly Sprig (magazine freebie)
Embossing: Festive Wishes (magazine freebie)
Card: Gold mirri, red matt, green matt and white matt card

I embossed a square of white card before layering it onto gold mirri and attaching it to the centre of the card blank.  I die cut 'Sister' from gold mirri and attached it to the lower part of the card.  I die cut and embossed two large poinsettias from red card and one from green card.  I shaped the die cuts before gluing them together.  I die cut the holly berries from gold mirri and attached them to the centre of the poinsettia.  I die cut two holly sprigs from dark green card and snipped the ends from both sprigs.  The snipped ends were then glued to the back of the poinsettia flower before being attached to the top corner of the card.
