On the Ocean Wave

This is my last post for a while as we're heading to Scotland tomorrow for a couple of months.  I made this card for Steve's birthday - we'll be staying on a site on the shore of Luce Bay on his birthday so I thought a nautical card would be perfect for him.  I've used more oddments from my Hundydory drawer - this uses a topper from the Perfect Pastimes 'On the Ocean Wave' set, plus an odd 'Happy Birthday' topper and some pale blue patterned card from an unknown sets.

To make this card I used:
     6" x 6" cream hammer card blank
Hunkydory 'On the Ocean Wave' and ki topper
Snippets of gold mirri and blue card

I trimmed the blue card so it was slightly smaller than the card blank, layered it onto gold mirri and attached it to the front.  The topper and frame were attached to the centre of the card with strips of foam tape.  To finish I attached the sentiment to the upper corner of the card.

Cross Stitch Poppies

I've recently bought a Textile Heritage bookmark kit from a charity shop - another bargain for £2.00.  As I didn't want to stitch a bookmark I've used the lovely poppy design to make these two notecards.

To make this card I used:
     4" x 4" white hammer card blanks
Textile Heritage 'Poppy Meadow' cross stitch kit
Lawn Fawn 'Outside In Stitched Square Stackables' die
     Snippets of white hammer card

I stitched the poppies, adding an extra couple of stitches to the horizontal frame to ensure the blue frame was a square and not a rectangle in the bookmark kit.  I die cut a stitched square from the centre of the card blank, trimmed the aida around the design and attached it to the rear of the aperture.  I trimmed a snippet of white hammer card to the same size as the card blank and attached it inside to cover the rear of the stitching.

Another Opulent Bauble

I made this quick Christmas card with lots of snippets - I know I use this embossing folder and stamp set a lot, but it's still one of my favourites for quick cards.

To make this card I used:
     6" x 4" white matt card blank
Practical Publishing 'Opulent Baubles' embossing folder and stamps
     Versafine Onyx Black ink
Cosmic Shimmer Clear Detail embossing powder
Snippets of white matt card, red paper and red textured card

I embossed a piece of white matt card, trimmed around the edge so it was slightly smaller than the card blank and attached it to the front.  I used black ink to stamp the joy bauble onto the red paper and embossed it with clear embossing powder.  I then used the die from the embossing folder to cut the bauble before inlaying it into the front of the card.   I stamped the bow onto a snippet of red textured card using black ink and then embossed it with clear embossing powder.  I fussy cut the bow and attached it to the top of the bauble with a small foam pad.

Action Time

I made this card for my youngest great-nephew using my last LOTV 'Action Time' Art Pad image and my last sheet of the green 'Galaxy Stars' paper.

To make this card I used:
     6" x 6" white matt card blank
Lili of the Valley 'Action Time' Art Pad image
My Favorite Things 'Inside & Out Stitched Oval STAX Die-namics', Creative Expressions 'Mini Expressions -Stacked Happy Birthday' and Memory Box 'Classic Numbers' dies
Lili of the Valley 'Galaxy Stars' paper
     Snippets of dark brown card

I layered the star paper onto brown card and die cut an oval from the left size of the panel before attaching it to the card blank.  I die cut the Art Pad image with the same oval die before inlaying it into the front of the card.  I die cut the sentiment and '8' from snippets of brown card before attaching the sentiment to the lower corner of the card and the '8' to the football.

Especially for You

I made this card to send to Gail for the April Card Chain Challenge.  I used the Colour Option (Silver, Evergreen & Lilac) and the Theme Option (Friendship).

To make this card I used:
     7" x 5" white matt card blank
Creative Expressions 'Be Kind' and Woodware 'Going to Seed' stamps
     Tattered Lace 'Mini Butterfly' die
     Versafine Olympia Green ink
Cosmic Shimmer Clear Detail embossing powder
     Green and Lilac Promarkers
     Wink of Stella
Snippets of white matt card and silver mirri card

I placed the white card into my MISTI and stamped the outline and sentiment a few times to get a good depth of colour before embossing them with clear embossing powder.  The panel was trimmed, layered onto silver mirri card and attached to the centre of the card blank.  I used green and lilac Promarkers to colour the flower and circles and then highlighted them with plenty of Wink of Stella.  To finish I die cut three tiny butterflies from silver mirri and attached them to the front of the card.
