Gold, Black and White Christmas

The current Merry Monday challenge is 'Gold, Black and White' and once again my upcyling box came to the rescue.  I'm also entering Penny's Paper Crafty Challenge 'Anything Goes' and Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas Challenge Extra where 'Anything Goes as long as it's Christmas'.

Card blank: 7" x 5" white silk
Image: Upcycled Christmas card
Card: Gold mirri

I saved this lovely card as I liked the beautiful image which has so much detail.  All I did to make this quick card was trim it slightly, layer it onto gold mirri card and attach it to the card front.

Vintage Christmas

Cindy is the host for this week's Winter Wonderland challenge and she has chosen 'Lots of Layers' or 'Wish upon a Star' as the themes.

This week we are sponsored by MR Designs who are offering a 10.00 euro gift voucher and Live and Love Crafts who are offering a £10.00 gift voucher.

For my card I have used Crafter's Companion 'Vintage' papers to create my 'Lots of Layers' card.  I am entering Sparkles Monthly Challenge 'Lots of Layers', Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenge 'Anything Goes',  Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas Challenge 'Vintage' and Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas Challenge Extra where 'Anything Goes as long as it's Christmas'.

Card blank: 7" x 5" kraft
Image: Crafter's Companion 'Vintage' (magazine freebie)
Die: Memory Box 'Ringed Buckle'
Card: Red matt, kraft
Paper: Crafter's Companion 'Vintage' (magazine freebie)
Other: Cream Ribbon

I layered green paper onto red card and attached a strip of holly paper to the left side.  I die-cut two Ringed Buckles and layered them to give more dimension.  I threaded the cream ribbon through the buckle and attached it around the join in the papers.  This panel was then attached to the card front.  I layered the Santa topper onto red and kraft card and made another panel of the same size using pink snowflake paper. These were then attached to the card front.

F for Fishing

I made this card for the Cardz 4 Guyz 'Something beginning with F' challenge (and I've obviously chosen Fishing).  I'm also entering The Craft Barn Two Weekly Challenge 'What Men Like to Do on a Bank Holiday' and Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenge 'Anything Goes'.  I'm also popping across to the playground at Pixie's Crafty Workshop.

Card blank: 6" x 6" white silk
Image: Lili of the Valley 'Gone Fishing' Mini Masterpieces
Snippets: First Edition 'Man Made' zig zag paper, brown card, hessian ribbon

I layered a square of zig zag paper onto brown card and wrapped the hessian ribbon around it  as I thought this looked a bit like a fishing net!. This was then attached to the card front.  The topper was already pre-coloured and die-cut, so I layered it onto brown card and attached it with foam tape.  Quick and easy!

Gold Christmas

This month's Christmas Cards All Year Round challenge is 'Shabby Chic' or 'Monochomatic' and we are sponsored by Elisabeth Bell who are offering two digi stamps for the winner.

I decided to choose the 'Monochromatic' option and used Kanban toppers for this quick and simple card.  I'm entering the Christmas Card Challenges 'Anything Goes', Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas Challenge 'Use a Sentiment' and Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas Challenge Extra where 'Anything Goes as long as it's Christmas'.

Card blank: 7" x 5" white silk
Images: Kanban 'Cosy Christmas'
Card: Gold mirri

To make this super quick card, I layered the gold candle image onto gold mirri and attached it to the card front.  I trimmed the sentiment image, layered it onto gold mirri and attached it to the centre of the card ensuring the picture matched.  Why are quick and simple cards often my favourites?

Steve the Seagull

It's a new challenge at Crafty Hazelnut's Patterned Paper Challenge.  This is a great challenge where the theme is always 'Anything Goes' as long as you use some patterned paper on your creation.

I have used 'Steve the Seagull' paper and toppers from Making Cards magazine.  I am entering A Gem of a Challenge 'Summer Fun' and Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenge 'Anything Goes'.

Card blank: 7" x 7" white silk
Image: 'Steve the Seagull' (magazine freebie)
Dies: Spellbinders Nestabilities Standard Circles Large and Classic Scalloped Circles Large
Card: Burgundy matt and mustard texture
Paper: 'Steve the Seagull' (magazine freebie)
Other: Wink of Stella

I trimmed the seashell paper to a square (I wish they had kept the papers to A4 size instead of reducing them to A5 - just so it looks better on the store shelves!), layered it onto burgundy and mustard card before attaching it to the card front.  The seagull topper was trimmed, layered onto burgundy card and attached to the centre.  I die-cut the sentiment, layered it onto a scalloped circle die-cut from burgundy card and attached it with foam tape.  To finish, I highlighted the seagull with a Wink of Stella.

Kaleidoscope Butterfly

I made this card for the Butterfly Challenge 'K is for Kraft and/or Kaleidoscope' - the flowers remind me of the tiny beads that used to be in my kaleidoscope when I was young!  I bought the Happy Birthday die ages ago and this is the first time it's seen light of day, so I'm heading across to join Darnell's NBUS challenge.  I'm also entering Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenge 'Anything Goes, Cardz 4 Galz 'Butterflies or Dragonflies' and Seize the Birthday 'Anything Goes' challenges.  The card is all from my snippets drawer so I'm off to see Di in the playground at Pixie's Crafty Workshop.

Card blank: 7" x 7" kraft
Die: Crafts-Too Presscut 'Happy Birthday', Tattered Lace 'Mini Butterfly'
Snippets: Pink floral butterfly. pink and kraft card

I trimmed the pink floral butterfly card, layered it onto pink card and attached it to the centre of the card.  I die-cut Happy Birthday from both pink and kraft card, attaching the pink above the kraft to give a shadow effect.  This was then attached to the top corner of the card to balance the butterfly in the lower corner.  I die-cut a butterfly from a teeny snippet of the flower card and attached it above the sentiment.

Brown Snowflakes

Louise is the host for this weeks Winter Wonderland challenge and she has chosen 'Use white and one other colour' or 'A little bird told me' for the themes.

This week we are sponsored by Crafty Sentiments Designs who are offering three digis and The Craft Barn who are giving a £10.00 voucher.

For my card I have chosen the colour theme and have used 'white and brown'. I am entering the August Rudolph Day challenge, Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenge 'Anything Goes', the Happy Little Stampers Christmas Challenge 'Snowflakes' and Happy Little Stampers Anything Goes with Dies challenges.

Card blank: 6" x 6" white silk
Die: Memory Box Grand 'Merry Christmas' and 'Snowflake Corner'
Card: Brown matt, white silk
Paper: Lili of the Valley 'Krafty Christmas'

I layered brown snowflake paper onto brown card and attached it to the card front.  I die cut the Grand Merry Christmas from white and brown card, inlaying the brown letters into the white die-cut. I then attached the sentiment to the lower edge of the card.  I die-cut the Snowflake Corner from white card and attached it to the top corner.

V for Vase and Vanilla

The current Butterfly Challenge is 'V for Vases and/or Vanilla'.  I had almost given up finding a vase when I came across this cute vase of snowdrops, saved from a card I received earlier in the year.  I'm also entering Allsorts 'Fabulous Florals' challenge, Penny's Paper Crafty Challenge 'Anything Goes', Cardz 4 Galz 'Butterflies or Dragonflies' and Crafty Friends 'Anything Goes' challenges.  The paper and ribbon are from my snippets drawer so I'm also visiting the playground at Pixie's Crafty Workshop.

Card blank: 6" x 4" kraft
Image: Vase of snowdrops (upcycled from greetings card)
Die: Tattered Lace 'Mini Butterflies'
Embossing: Xcut 'Swirls'
Snippets: Vanilla pattered paper, brown ribbon

I embossed the paper, trimmed it and attached it to the card front.  The vase of snowdrops was already fussy cut and I used foam tape to attach it to the centre of the card.  I die cut two mini butterflies and attached them either side of the vase.  To finish, I attached a small bow to the top of the vase.

Christmas Angels

I've not had much time for crafting this week as I've been catching up with jobs after our holiday, so was pleased to see that the current ABC Christmas Challenge is 'Q for Quick Layout'.  I've used a pre-coloured image for this quick card which I am also entering into Christmas Card Challenges 'Angels', ABC Challenges 'N is for Noel' (create a Christmas themed project) and Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas Challenge Extra where 'Anything Goes as long as it's Christmas'.  The card is from my snippets drawer, so I'm also popping across to the playground at Pixie's Crafty Workshop.

Card blank: 7" x 5" white silk
Image: Lili of the Valley 'Christmas Angels' Art Pad
Embossing: Creative Expressions 'Sparkle Squares'
Other: Diamond Stickles, Wink of Stella
Snippets: Gold mirri and white silk card

I embossed a snippet of white card with the Sparkle Squares, layered it onto gold mirri and attached it to the card front.  I trimmed the Christmas Angels image so it was slightly smaller than another snippet of gold mirri, this was then attached to the centre of the card.   I used a Wink of Stella to highlight the angels and Diamond Stickles on the clouds.

Christmas Ornament Fairy

This is my second post today, please scroll down to see my DT card for Crafty Hazelnut's Patterned Paper Challenge.

This month's Christmas Cards All Year Round challenge is 'Bright Christmas Colours' and we are sponsored by The Stamping Boutique.

For my card I have used 'Christmas Ornament Fairy' from The Stamping Boutique.  I am entering Sparkles Monthly Challenge 'Christmas in July', Christmas Card Challenges 'Anything Goes' and Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas Challenge 'Anything Goes as long as it's Christmas'.

Card blank: 7" x 7" white silk
Stamp: The Stamping Boutique 'Christmas Ornament Fairy' digi
Dies: Spellbinders Nestabilities Classic Squares Large & Lacy Squares
Embossing: Kars tan embossing mat
Colouring: Promarkers
Card: Purple mirri
Paper: Making Cards 'Party Girls' (magazine freebie)
Other: Star Dust Stickles, Papermania Transparent Shimmering Dots

I trimmed the gold/purple paper, layered it onto purple mirri and attached it to the card front.  I attached a square of spotty paper to purple mirri and attached it at an angle on the card. I resized the 'Christmas Ornament Fairy' and printed it onto white card.  I then die cut and embossed the image before colouring it with Promarkers.  This was then layered onto a purple mirri Lacy Square and attached to the card front.  I highlighted the fairy with Stickles and added transparent dots to the top and bottom corners of the card.

Let's Dance

It's a new challenge at Crafty Hazelnut's Patterned Paper Challenge.  This is a great challenge where the theme is always 'Anything Goes' as long as you use some patterned paper on your creation.

For my card I have used 'Let's Dance' papers from Making Cards magazine. I am entering Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenge 'Anything Goes',  the Alphabet Challenge 'K is for Kindness' (I've made the card to send to a friend with a small gift which is wrapped in the same papers) and The Paper Shelter 'Anything Goes' challenge.

Card blank: 6" x 6" white silk
Image: Let's Dance; (magazine freebie)
Card: Textura 'Nature'
Paper: 'Let's Dance' (magazine freebie)

I chose patterned paper to match the image background, layered it onto rust texture card and attached it to the card front.  A strip of coordinating paper from the same selection was layered onto rust card and attached across the lower section of the card.  The image was also layered onto rust card.  To ensure it lay flat across the horizontal strip, I attached a small piece of card to the top section before attaching to the centre of the card.  I glued the sentiment onto black card, fussy cut it and attached it to the top of the image.
