C for Corners

I made this card for a friend who has injured her back and will enter it into the current Butterfly Challenge, which is 'C for Corners'. I chose to put my sentiment in the corner of the card and to add gems in the opposite corner.  I'm also paying a visit to the playground at Pixie's Crafty Workshop.

Card blank: 7" x 7" kraft
Card: Black matt
Paper: Creative Cardmaking (magazine freebie)
Other: Butterfly charm (from Mrs A)
Snippets: Black ribbon, black gems

I trimmed a square of floral paper and layered it onto black card.  I attached a snippet of black ribbon around the right side before attaching the square to the card blank.  The sentiment was trimmed, layered onto black card and fussy cut before being attached to the card with foam tape.  I then attached the butterfly with silicone glue and added gems to the lower corner.

Cinnamon Birthday

I made this card for a teenager's birthday using the current sketch at Freshly Made Sketches.   The stamp is Penny Black's 'Cinnamon' which I bought last year and never used, so it's perfect to link to Darnell's NBUS challenge.  I'm also linking to the current Seize the Birthday challenge where 'Anything Goes'.

Card blank: 7" x 5" white silk
Stamps: Penny Black 'Cinnamon' and Hobby Art 'General Greetings'
Punches: Woodware corner rounder, Woodware regular and mini hearts
Ink: Memento Black Onyx
Paper: Pink/blue stripe paper
Colouring: Promarkers

I covered the front of the card with striped paper.  The image was stamped onto white card, trimmed to size, the left corners were rounded and coloured with Promarkers.  This was then attached to the card front.   I stamped the sentiment onto a strip of card, trimmed the left edge, layered it onto a strip of paper before attaching it to the card with foam tape.  I punched a white mini heart, layered it onto a regular heart punched from striped paper and attached it to the card front.

March Rudolph Day

It's hard to believe that this is the third Rudolph Day this year!  For this month's card I decided to use the fabulous Merry Box die that ScrappyMo gave me when I was her Guest Designer in January.

Card blank: 6" x 4" white silk
Die: Memory Box 'Sparkling Tree Tile'
Punch: Woodware mini star
Card: Green mirri and white silk

I die cut the tree onto white card, trimmed it to size, layered it onto green mirri card and attached it to the card front.  I then attached a punched star to the top of the tree.  I'll definitely be making more of these cards - thanks for the die ScrappyMo!

Silent Night

I made this card for the current 52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown challenge, which is 'Silent Night'.  As the paper and image were from the bottom of my snippets drawer, I'm off to the playground at Pixie's Crafty Workshop.

Card blank: 6" x 4" white silk
Image:  Making Cards (magazine freebie)
Punch:  Woodware corner rounder
Snippets: Gold mirri card and paper

I layered a piece of cream paper onto gold mirri card and attached it to the card front.  The topper was trimmed and the corners rounded before it was attached to gold mirri card, then to the card front.  I cut an extra shooting star and attached it to the image with silicone glue.

Lace Tree

Darnell has another NBUS (Never-Before-Used-Schtuff) challenge.  I bought this Cuttlebug Lace Tree embossing folder to make some quick Christmas cards last year, and it never got used.  It's perfect for the NBUS challenge and also to make another Christmas card towards this month's ten cards.  The mirri card and ribbon are from my snippets drawer, so this is another visit to the playground at Pixie's Crafty Workshop.

Card blank: 6" x 4" white hammer
Embossing: Cuttlebug 'Lace Tree' folder
Other: Diamond Stickles
Snippets: Green mirri card, white hammered card and ribbon

I embossed the tree onto white card, trimmed it to size, layered it onto green mirri card and attached it to the card front.   I used a fine paintbrush to spread the Stickles onto the tree and then attached a small green bow.   A quick card, which is why I bought the embossing folder last year!

P for Patterned Paper

The current Butterfly Challenge is 'P for Patterned Paper'.  I used my last snippets of Butterfly Garden papers, so am also paying a visit to the playground at Pixie's Crafty Workshop.

Card blank: 6" x 6" white pearl
Stamp: Sentiment (magazine freebie)
Punch:  Woodware 1" square
Ink: Versafine Vintage Sepia
Card: Pink and gold Moondust
Other: Wink of Stella
Snippets: Wild Rose Studio 'Butterfly Garden'

I punched sixteen squares from the Butterfly Gardens papers and attached them to pink card.  The pink card was trimmed to size before being layered onto gold card and attached to the card front.   I stamped the sentiment onto white card, trimmed it to size and then layered it onto pink and then gold card.   The sentiment was attached to the card front with foam pads.  To finish I used a Wink of Stella on the sentiment.

Have a Whale of a Time!

The current challenge at The Male Room is 'Under Water'.  I don't have any suitable stamps, but found this topper to make a super quick card for my nephew's birthday.

Card blank: 6" x 4" white silk
Paper: Cardmaker's Collection

I covered the card blank with blue bird paper and attached a strip of striped paper to the left side.  The topper and sentiment were layered onto thin card before being cut out and attached to the card front with foam pads. Simple!

Good Luck

I made this Good Luck card for the Cuttlebug Mania 'Green with Envy' challenge. I came across this challenge blog as Di has just joined their design team so it also seems a good idea to hop across to the playground at Pixie's Crafty Workshop.

Card blank: 5" x 5" white silk
Stamp:  Stamp Addicts 'Whimsy Words 2'
Dies: Spellbinders Nestabilities Standard Circles Large and Classic Scalloped Circles Large
Embossing: Crafts-Too 'Leaves' folder & Kars tan embossing mat
Ink: Versafine Olympia Green
Other: Wink of Stella
Snippets: Paper, mirri card, four leaf clover and gem

I embossed a square of green card, layered it onto green mirri card and attached it to the card front.  I die-cut and embossed a circle of green card and attached it to a scalloped circle of green mirri card before attaching it to the centre of the card front.  The four leaf clover was attached to the circle with a gem in the centre.   I stamped the sentiment onto green card, this was die-cut and embossed before being attached to a scalloped circle of green mirri card and attached to the card front with foam tape.   To finish I used a Wink of Stella on the sentiment.

Christmas Greetings

I made this card for the 52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown sketch challenge and as the card and papers are from my snippets drawer I'm also popping into the playground at Pixie's Crafty Workshop.

Card blank: 7" x 5" white silk
Stamps: Docrafts Me to You 'Santa' and Woodware 'Festive Verse'
Dies: Spellbinders Nestabilities Classic Ovals Small and Classic Scalloped Ovals Small
Embossing: Kars tan embossing mat
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black and Versafine Olympia Green
Colouring: Promarkers
Snippets: Red mirri card, white silk card and green holly paper

I layered a strip of green holly paper onto red mirri card and attached it to the card front.  The image was stamped onto white card, die-cut and embossed.   This was coloured with Promarkers and I used fun flock on the edges of the coat and hat.  The image was attached to a scalloped die-cut of red mirri card before being attached to the card front with foam tape.  I fussy cut holly leaves and attached them to the bottom of the image.   To finish, I stamped the sentiment directly onto the card.

Trimming the Tree

I made this super quick card for this week's Merry Monday challenge which is to use 'Red and Green'.   The paper was in my 'to use one day' box and today is the day!

Card blank: 6" x 6" cream
Card: Burgundy Moondust
Paper: Kaisercraft Christmas Collections
Other: Wink of Stella

I trimmed the paper, layered it onto card and attached it to a cream card blank.  I was going to attach some ribbon, but it looked too fussy so I just added a Wink of Stella to the lettering and flowers.  One very quick and simple card!

May all your dreams come true

I made this quick card for the current CAS(E) this Sketch challenge.  I'm also entering the Crafty Cardmakers 'Stripes' challenge and the Seize the Birthday 'Masculine' toppings challenge.

Card blank: 7" x 5" black
Stamp: Woodware 'Most Wonderful Birthday'
Embossing: Clear embossing powder
Ink: Versafine Black Onyx
Card: Black Moondust
Papers: Wild Rose Studio 'Man About Town'
Other: Card Candi - Metallique Bronze

I covered the front of the black card blank with two papers from the 'Man About Town' paper pack. The sentiment was stamped and embossed onto a strip of white card, this was layered onto strip of black card and attached to the card to cover the join in the papers.  To finish I attached card candi to the sentiment strip.

Happy Anniversary

I made this anniversary card following the current sketch at CAS Colours and Sketches.  The paper and card are from my snippets drawer, so I'm paying my first visit to the playground at Pixie's Crafty Workshop.

Card blank: 6" x 4" white silk
Stamp:  Hobby Art 'General Greetings'
Die:  Cuttlebug Concentric Hearts
Ink: Versafine Crimson Red
Snippets: Silver satin mirri card and red paper

I layered a square of red paper onto silver card and attached it to the card front.  I cut two concentric hearts and used the middle two hearts (the others are in my snippets drawer!) and linked the two hearts, before attaching them to the red square.   The sentiment was stamped onto white card - this was trimmed to size, layered onto red paper and silver card before being attached to the card front with foam tape.
