To finish  I die cut the sentiment and attached it to the lower edge of the card.

Rudolph and Recycling

Does anyone else look at Christmas cards as they arrive and decide what they want to make with them?  As soon as I received this card I knew I wanted to add Rudolph amongst the gold glitter trees - perfect for the Christmas Kickstart Challenge 'Rudolph and Friends'.  I'm also entering the Happy Little Stampers Christmas Challenge 'Reindeer, Fab 'n' Funky 'Recycle your Christmas Cards' challenge and Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas Challenge 'Upcycle or Use Something Old' (I've upcycled my Christmas card).

6" x 4" cream matt card blank
Upcycled Christmas card
Creative Dies 'Elegant Reindeer' die
Bronze and red mirri card
Small red gem

I cut the 'Winter Wishes' from the bottom of the Christmas card, trimmed the card to size and attached it to the front of the card blank.  The sentiment was layered onto bronze mirri and attached to the top of the card.  I die cut the reindeer twice from bronze mirri and layered the two dies together to give more depth before attaching it to the card front with dots of Tacky Glue.  I die cut the reindeer again from red mirri and inlaid the red swirl and attached the bow.  To finish I added a small red gem to Rudolph's nose.

Snow Drifters

It's time for the first challenge of the year at Winter Wonderland and our challenges are now monthly with all the DT making cards for each challenge..  I'm hosting this challenge and have chosen 'It's Snowtime' as our theme.  We're sponsored by Becky's Place and the lucky winner will receive two digi stamps of their choice.

Becky has generously given me this image to use from the lovely Snow Drifters set so I'm entering my card into the Becky's Place January Challenge.  I'm also entering the Imagine That Digistamp Challenge 'Anything Goes', ABC Christmas Challenge 'A is for Anything Christmas Goes' and the Merry Little Christmas Challenge 'Anything Christmas Goes'.

6" x 6" white matt card blank
Becky's Place 'Snow Drifters' digi stamp
Promarkers
Silver mirri and white matt card
Blue snowflake  paper (make unknown)
Wink of Stella
Computer generated sentiment 'Footlight MT Light' font

I trimmed the blue snowflake paper, layered it onto silver mirri and attached it to the card front.  I resized the digi and added the sentiment before printing it onto white card.  The image was trimmed and coloured with Promarkers before being layered onto silver mirri and attached to the centre of the card.  To finish I added a Wink of Stella to the edges of the scarf and pom pom.

Merry Christmas Steve

I'm so pleased to have been invited to join the Design Team at Sparkles Christmas Challenge - thank you to Caz and the team!  For the first challenge this year our theme is 'Add Some Sparkle' and I'm sharing the card I made for my husband (using the die he bought me last Christmas!).

I'm entering the Dies R Us 'Anything Goes' challenge and the Merry Little Christmas Challenge 'Anything Christmas Goes'.  The card was made with snippets so I'm also heading into the playground at Pixie's Crafty Workshop.

6" x 6" white matt card blank
Creative Expressions 'Festive Collection - Aurora Star' die
White matt card
Computer generated sentiment 'Copperplate Gothic Light' font
Snippets of dark blue pearlescent card, silver glitter sheet and thin white card

I attached a square of blue pearlescent card to the centre of the card front.  I printed the sentiment onto white card and trimmed the panel so it was slightly smaller than the blue matt before die cutting the star frame.  I placed this panel onto the card and marked the points of the star to give me a guide when I attached the snippet of silver glitter sheet onto the blue card.  I attached snippets of white card around the glitter sheet so there was an even layer across the card front.  I then attached the panel with the printed sentiment.  I die cut the star and frame from blue pearlescent card and used dots of Tacky Glue to inlay it into the card front.

Let it Snow

Happy New Year!  This is my first post of the year for the January Christmas Crafts All Year Round challenge and our theme this month is 'Let is Snow'.

I'm entering Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas Challenge 'Any Christmas or New Year Card' and Crafty Hazelnut's Patterned Paper Challenge.

'Let it Snow' stamp (make unknown - cover gift with magazine)
Versafine Majestic Blue ink
Dark blue and white pearlescent card
Lili of the Valley 'Frosty Christmas' paper
Clear Gems

I trimmed the blue snowflake paper, layered it onto blue pearlescent card and attached it to the centre of the card.  I used my MISTI to stamp 'Let it Snow' onto white card, stamping it several times to deepen the colour of the ink.  Once dry I trimmed the strip, layered it onto blue pearlescent card and attached it across the centre.  To finish I added clear gems to the centre of the snowflakes.

Elf Christmas

I found this cute elf image in my upcycled Christmas card box - it was a DL size card that I've cut in half and it was already glittered.  I've used it to make a super quick card for the Butterfly Challenge 'Fairies, Gnomes, Pixies and Elves' (I've chosen the elf option with the Xmas Sparkle option too).  I'm also entering the Crafty Calendar Challenge 'It's Christmas Time', the ABC Christmas Challenge 'Z for Zero Embellishments' and Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas Challenge 'Anything Goes'.

Card blank: 6" x 4" cream embossed
Image: Upcycled Christmas Card
Card: Red matt

I trimmed the Christmas card image around two of the elves, ensuring an equal margin between the image and the card blank.  This panel was then layered onto red card before being attached to the pre-embossed card front.

Just for You

I made this card for the Butterfly Challenge 'Fairies, Pixies, Gnomes and Elves' (and I've chosen another fairy image).  I'm also entering Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenge 'Anything Goes' and Crafty Hazelnut's Patterned Paper Challenge,

Card blank: 5" x 5" white matt
Stamps: The Fairy Collection (magazine freebie)
Ink: Memento Rich Cocoa
Card: Dark brown matt
Paper: Lili of the Valley 'Amtebellum'

I trimmed the pink paper leaving the flower on the right hand side.  I put the paper into my MISTI, lined up the fairy and sentiment stamps before stamping it several times to ensure a good depth of colour.  The paper was then layered onto dark brown card and attached to the card blank.

Meadow Lark

I love papers with large patterns as they don't require many embellishments to make cards and this one is no exception.  I've had the paper for ages and only now am finally taking it out of my drawer to use instead of looking at it!

I'm entering Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenge 'Anything Goes' and Crafty Hazelnut's Patterned Paper Challenge.

7" x 7" cream pearlescent card
Die: Crafts-Too Presscut 'Happy Birthday'
Paper: Prima Marketing 'Meadow Lark' (magazine freebie)
Card: Purple pearlescent

I trimmed the paper, layered it onto purple card and attached it to the centre of the card front.  I then die cut the sentiment and attached it so the curve followed the birds's head.  Quick and simple and I hope the recipient likes it!

Merry Christmas Mum

This is the Christmas card I made for my mother.  I'm entering the ABC Christmas Challenge 'Y is for Your Favourite Thing' (I love inlaid die cutting as I find it so relaxing), the Crafty Cardmakers 'Christmas' challenge, the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown 'Pick a Previous 2017 Challenge' (I've chosen the November 2017 Sketch Challenge) and the Happy Little Stampers Anything Goes With Dies challenge. All the card was from my snippets drawer so I'm also heading into the playground at Pixie's Crafty Workshop.

Card blank: 6" x 6" white matt
Dies: Creative Dies 'Festive Scene' (magazine freebie), Spellbinders Nestabilities 'Standard Circles Large'
Card: White matt
Other: Computer generated sentiment 'Copperplate Gothic Light' font
Snippets: Blue and gold pearlescent card, Marianne Design 'Snow Paper', blue speckled paper, white card

I printed the sentiment onto white card, trimmed the panel, layered it onto blue pearlescent card and attached it to the card front.  I die cut the Festive Scene from blue card and used Stick and Spray to glue it to a die cut blue circle before attaching it to the centre of the card.  I attached the blue speckled paper onto thin white card to make it the same thickness as the outline before die cutting the sky and inlaying it.  The snow and snowflakes were die cut from Snow Paper before being inlaid.  To finish I die cut the windows from gold card and inlaid them into the scene.
