Floral Display

As part of my crafty sort out, I came across this image which I had stamped but not coloured.  As all the papers and card are from my snippets drawer, I'm into the playground with Di at Pixie's Crafty Snippets Playground.  I made the card for a friend who's not feeling too good at the moment - I didn't attach a sentiment to the front as I wrote her a little note inside.

I coloured the Hobby Art 'Floral Display' image with coloured pencils and attached it to a scalloped circle of pink card.  I cut four squares from two different papers from my snippets drawer and used a corner rounder on opposite corners of each square.   These were attached to a square of pink card before being mounted onto the card front.   The image was attached to the centre of the card.

Christmas Angel

Whilst looking through my Christmas drawer I found these cute decoupaged angels which I had obviously missed when I made last year's cards.  I'm going to enter this card into Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas Challenge 'One word is sufficient' and the Winter Wonderland 'Snowflakes falling all around' Challenge.  I've also joined in Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas Challenge Extra where 'anything goes as long as it's Christmas'.

I layered a square of dark blue snowflake paper to gold card and attached it to a white card blank.  A piece of snowflake paper, slightly larger than the angels was layered onto gold card and attached to the front of the card.  The angels were then attached to the panel.  I used Harrington font to type 'Christmas' and printed it onto white card, this was then layered onto snowflake paper and gold card before being attached to the card.  To finish, I added gold nailheads to the corners of the card.

Have a hoot on your birthday

This is the other birthday card I made today - I can't say who it's for as I don't want to spoil the suprise for her birthday!   This card used the Woodware Patch an Owl stamp set which was a magazine freebie last month.   All the papers and card have come from my snippets drawer, so I'm in Pixie's Crafty Snippets Playground.

I attached a strip of striped paper and turquose card onto the card blank and stamped the sentiment directly onto the card.   The owl image was stamped onto thin card and cut out, the image was then stamped onto various co-ordinating paper snippets which were cut out and attached to the owl image.  I used foam tape to attach the wings.  The branch was stamped onto brown card - the branch and owl were then attached to the card.  To finish I added 'wobbly eyes' to the owl.

Enjoy your birthday all day long ...

It seems ages since I posted any cards on my blog - last Thursday we decided to have a weekend away, which was lovely, but I seem to have been playing catch-up all week!  I've made a couple of cards today, this one is for my mum's birthday which I'm going to enter into the ABC Challenges 'H for Happy Birthday'.

I used Onyx Black Versafine to stamp the Woodware Phlox image and sentiment onto white pearlescent card.  The image was embossed with clear embossing powder and coloured with Promarkers.  I used a Woodware squared corner punch and then layered the image panel onto lilac card before attaching it to a white pearlescent card blank.

Me to You - With Love

There is a cute 'Me to You' stamp as a magazine freebie this month and I thought it would be ideal for this week's CAS(E) this Sketch challenge.  As I've used snippets of card and ribbon to make this card, I'm also going into the playground at Pixie's Crafty Workshop.

I used Tuxedo Black Momento ink to stamp the 'Me to You' image onto white card and coloured it with Promarkers, this was then layered onto a scrap of red card.  I stamped the Hobby Art sentiment onto white card with Satin Red Versafine and then layered it onto red card.  A small scrap of red ribbon was attached to the rear of the image to form a small loop.  The image was attached to the card with double sided tape and I used foam tape to attach the sentiment.

Bethlehem

I've made this Christmas card from an upcycled image and snippets.  I hadn't made it with any challenge in mind, but have seen that this month's Sparkles Christmas Challenge is 'Anything Goes'.  I'm also entering it into Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas Challenge Extra which has a monthly theme of  'anything goes as long as it's Christmas'.

I die cut the image from the Christmas card and layered it onto a scalloped gold circle.   The star paper was layered onto gold mirri before being attached to a dark blue card blank.   I then attached the image to the centre of the card.  To finish, I added three gold nailheads to the top right and three to the bottom left of the card.

Forget me not

I thought I would share another card I've made this afternoon - this is for this week's Less is More challenge which has the theme 'Friends'.  I bought these Little Claire peel offs ages ago as I thought they were cute, but then never used them!

I attached the elephant peel off and some flowers to a scrap of white pearlesent card and then layered it onto black card - inking the edges with a black Promarker.  The image was coloured with Promarkers and attached to a tent fold card.  I attached the 'Forget me not' sentiment and another flower directly onto the card front.

Christmas Wishes & Kisses

This week's Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas Challenge is to use something recycled or something that is free - I've chosen the recycle option and have used an image and sentiment recycled from my Christmas cards.  I have also entered this card into Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas Challenge Extra where 'anything goes as long as it's Christmas'.

I attached red patterned paper to an A6 cream card blank.  The sentiment was cut from an old card, the corners were rounded and it was attached to the card with tape.  The image was attached with foam tape to give some dimension to the card.   To finish I used Glossy Accents on the mistletoe berries.

Warm wishes

My choice tonight was - do I finish my ironing or do I make some cards?  It wasn't too difficult to decide, so here is one of the cards I made!   This week's Less is More challenge is 'Sports or Exercise' so I used this lovely Marianne Design 'Ice Skating Don' stamp which was a freebie in a magazine before Christmas.

I used Versafine Black Onxy to stamp the image and sentiment onto a white pearlescent card blank and embossed it with clear embossing powder.  The image was then coloured with Promarkers.  I'm not sure why I didn't use this stamp on any of my Christmas cards as I think he looks quite cute!

25 December - Christmas Day

This week's Crafty's Hazelnut's Challenge is 'Anything Goes' and Hazel is asking for cards which haven't been seen before or a new card for next Christmas.  This was a card I made last month, but hasn't yet been seen.

I used Versafine Black Onyx to stamp the Woodware 'Christmas Date' stamp onto white pearlescent card and embossed the image with clear embossing powder.  I then cut around the image, layered it onto red mirri card and used Promarkers to colour the holly and numbers.  I layered a square of red Marianne Design paper (a magazine freebie) onto red mirri card and attached it to the card blank.  The image was attached with foam tape.  To finish, I used Diamond Stickles on the snowflakes and Glossy Accents on the holly berries.

Wee Love You Bunches

Another horrid wet day.  My OH is decorating the living room and insists he doesn't need any help so I've decided to make a start on birthday and anniversary cards for next year.   This card uses a Wee Stamp which was a freebie in a magazine earlier this year - I've followed the CAS - Colours and Sketches sketch to make the card.

I used Tuxedo Black Momento ink to stamp the image onto white pearlescent card and then coloured it with Promarkers.  I cut two squares of green/purple paper and layered it onto green paper.   The image was also layered onto green paper.  These papers are fabulous, although I've no idea what make they are as they were a Secret Santa present.  I used double sided tape to attach the squares to the front of a square card blank and foam tape to attach the image.

My Five Favourite Christmas Cards

I've just come across Debby's blog and she is asking crafters to choose 'My Five Favourite Christmas cards' - there is also a chance to win some candy.  These are the five cards I have chosen and the reasons I have chosen them:

This Christmas Wreath was for a colour challenge - I wouldn't normally have chosen these colours but I was pleased with the finished card.

My OH bought this cute Bella stamp for me - I've used it several times but liked it layered onto the dark green heart paper for my sister (she liked it too!).

This Patchwork Christmas Tree was the first time I had tried paper pieceing - and I'm now hooked as it's a great way of using paper snippets.

This Carol Singing card was for a challenge - a traditional image with non-tradiitional colours - it was made from a recycled image and I liked the non-traditional colours

This Blue and Green Christmas Tree was the design I chose for my 'quick and easy' cards and made 20 in one evening using oddments of green paper for the trees and various colour papers and gems for the decorations.
