A is for Antlers

The current ABC Christmas Challenge is 'A for Anything Christmas (Optional Antlers)'.  I've chosen the Antlers option to make this quick card with one of my upcycled Christmas cards.

Card blank: 6" x 6" white hammer
Punch: Woodware squared corner punch
Card: Gold Moondust
Other: Diamond Stickles, Upcycled Christmas Card, Wink of Stella

I trimmed the card to size and used the corner punch before layering it onto gold card and attaching it to the card front.  There was already some glitter on the card, but I added more with Stickles and a Wink of Stella on the reindeer and tree.

Tapestry Bouquet

I made this card to send to a friend and followed the sketch at CAS Colours and Sketches.  As everything came from my snippets drawer, I'm in the playground again at Pixie's Crafty Workshop.

Card blank: 6" x 6" white hammer
Stamps: Woodware 'Tapestry Bouquet' and Woodware 'Going to Seed'
Dies: Spellbinders Nestablilities Classic Ovals Large, Lacey Ovals, Standard Circles Large and Classic Scalloped Circles Large
Ink: Versafine Vintage Sepia
Colouring: Sakura coloured pencils
Other: Wink of Stella
Snippets: White card, paper and sequins

Following the sketch, I cut a strip of pink paper and attached it to the card blank.  The image was stamped onto card, coloured, die-cut and layered onto a scalloped die-cut of brown card before being attached to the front of the card.  The sentiment was stamped onto card, die-cut and layered onto a brown die-cut circle before being attached to the card front with foam tape.   I used a Wink of Stella over the image and sentiment and attached three white sequins to the lower section of the card.

Just for You

I made this card for the current Colour Me Monochromatic challenge, which is to use Perfect Plum and Neutral (I've chosen black as my neutral colour).  I'm also entering the current Winter Wonderland challenge which is 'Things with Wings'.  As the paper, card and gems are from my snippets drawer I'm also in the playground at this week's Pixie's Crafty Workshop.

Card blank: 6in x 6in white silk
Stamps: The Fairy Collection stamps (magazine  freebie)
Ink: Versafine Imperial Purple
Other: Wink of Stella
Snippets: Paper, mirri card and gems

I layered purple paper onto black mirri card and attached it ot the left side of my card.   The fairy image was stamped onto white card, trimmed to size, layered onto black mirri card and attached to the card with foam tape.  The sentiment was stamped directly onto the card under the image.   To finish, I used a Wink of Stella on the fairy and attached two small heart shape gems.

Thank You and Butterflies

I've another Thank You card to share (it's that time of year!) and this one has been made with a stamp that I bought ages ago and, shamefully, never used so I'm paying a visit to Darnell's NBUS Challenge (NBUS stands for 'never-before-used-schtuff').  I'm also entering the Butterfly Challenge which is 'Thank you with Butterflies'.

Card blank: 6" x 6" white silk
Stamp: Stampendous 'Thank You'
Dies: Spellbinders Nestabilities Standard Circles Large and Classic Scalloped Circles Large
Embossing: Clear embossing powder
Ink: Versafine Smokey Grey
Card: Grey mirri
Papers: Wild Rose Studio 'Bluebell'
Snippets: Silver butterfly and gems

I layered butterfly paper onto grey mirri and attached it to the card front.  The bluebells from another sheet of paper were fussy-cut and attached to the bottom of the card.  I stamped and embossed the sentiment on white card.  This was then die-cut, layered onto a scalloped grey mirri die-cut and attached to the card.  To finish, I attached a silver butterfly decorated with two small green gems.

Merry Christmas to You and Yours

One of my resolutions is to make at least ten Christmas cards each month, so I can prevent last minute card making in December - I'll keep a running total on my sidebar.  Another resolution is to be thrifty, which means there will be a lot of snippets cards this year!

This card covers both of the above and I've made it for this week's Winter Wonderland challenge which is 'Your favourite colour combo'.  I've used one of my all-time favourites for Christmas, which is red and gold.  Paper and card are from my snippets drawer, so I'm paying a visit to Pixie's Crafty Workshop.

Card blank: 6" x 6" white silk
Stamp: Inkadinkado 'Merry Christmas to You and Yours'
Dies: Spellbinders Nestabilities Standard Circles Large and Classic Scalloped Circles Large
Embossing: Kars tan embossing mat
Ink: Versafine Crimson Red
Colouring: Gold gel pen
Other: Wink of Stella
Snippets: Paper and card

I layered a strip of red and gold paper onto gold mirri and attached it to the card.  The image was stamped onto white card, die cut, layered onto a scalloped circle of gold mirri card and attached to the card with foam pads.  I coloured the stars with a gold gel pen and added a Wink of Stella to the stamped image.

A Big Thank You

'A Big Thank You' to my followers and everyone who has left comments on my blog - I hope you all have a very Happy New Year.

This is one of my post-Christmas 'Thank You' cards and as paper and gems are from my snippets drawer I'm paying my final visit to Pixie's Crafty Workshop.

Card blank: 6" x 6" white hammered
Stamps: Woodware Bubble Bloom 'Felicity' and Woodware 'Salutations'
Punch: Woodware squared corner

I stamped the image and sentiment onto card, trimmed it to size, used the squared corner punch and then layered it onto orange/pink paper before attaching it to the card blank.  The image was decorated with card candi, nail heads and small gems.

Happy Birthday Snippets

I've spent some time tidying my craft space and have made this card with snippets discovered in the depths of a drawer - perfect for another visit to Pixie's Crafty Workshop.

Heart die-cut, toppers, paper, card and gems all from snippets drawer (magazine freebies)

I layered a strip of spotty paper onto gold mirri card and attached it to the card front.  The teddy chipboard shape was attached to the die-cut heart and onto the card front.  The sentiment was layered onto gold mirri, attached to the card front and finished with two small lilac gems.

Fussy and Fancy

This month's Winter Wonderland challenge is 'Fussy and Fancy' and doesn't have to be a Christmas card.  I've used the fabulous 'freebie' Fairy stamps again, so have another entry into the Butterfly Challenge 'All Kinds of Fairies'.  Paper, card and ribbon are all snippets, so this is my first entry into the playground at Pixie's Crafty Workshop.

The Fairy Collection stamps (magazine freebie)
Spellbinders Classic Ovals Large and Lacey Ovals
Versafine Vintage Sepia ink
Wink of Stella
Card, paper and pink ribbon from snippets drawer

I layered the patterned paper onto brown card, wrapped the pink ribbon around the bottom and attached it to the card blank.  A small piece of ribbon was tied onto the ribbon.  The fairy was stamped onto white card, die cut, embossed and attached to a lacey oval of brown card.   This was attached to the card front with foam pads.

To finish, I used Wink of Stella on the fairy image.

My Favourite Five Christmas Cards of 2014

Debby is asking for 'My Favourite Five Christmas Cards of 2014'.  Even though I've made and sent almost 100 Christmas cards this year, not many of them found their way to my blog!  These are the ones that I've chosen and the reasons for choosing them.

I like the snowflake paper on this card and used the area with the most pattern for the card and the lighter part of the paper for the topper.   I was also pleased to be an Honorable Mention at 52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown.

I made several of these Tatty Teddy cards as they were a great way of using small snippets of card and didn't take too long to colour.

My OH gave me this Woodware stamp for my birthday and I've made loads of cards with it as it's been so quick and easy.  I was also pleased that the card received an 'Honorable Mention' at 52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown.

This card was made for a 'Nordic' challenge using a die that was a magazine freebie - I don't often use kraft card, but I like the look of it for this card.

My final card is one of the cards I made for the September Rudolph Day - this one is my favourite as I like the non-traditional colours.

I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas.

Just thinking of you

I was all set to make my first butterfly card for the Butterfly Challenge, only to find that this month's challenge is 'All Kinds of Fairies'.  So I made this card for a friend's January birthday.

Woodware 'Going to Seed' sentiment stamp
Spellbinders Classic Circles Large and Classic Scalloped Circles Large
Spellbinders Classic Ovals Small and Classic Scalloped Circles Small
Hole punch

Wink of Stella
Card and paper from snippets drawer.

I layered blue and cream paper onto brown card, before attaching it to the card blank.  The fairy and sentiment were stamped onto cream card, die cut, embossed and layered onto scalloped shapes.  The fairy was attached to the card front and the sentiment attached over it with foam tape. I punched small circles and attached them to the corners of the card.  To finish, I used a Wink of Stella on the fairy and sentiment.

My final 2014 Christmas card

Here is my final 2014 Christmas card - for my OH.   I've used the stamp he bought me for my birthday as he's always said he loves the cards I make with it - I hope he means it!  I made this for the final 52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown Challenge of the year which is to pick any challenge from 2014 - I've chosen the March Theme Challenge - Stars.  It also fits with the last Crafty Cardmakers challenge of the year which is 'Christmas'.

Woodware Bubble Bloom - Festive Tree
Docrafts Me to You sentiment stamps
Crafts-Too Twinkle embossing folder
Versafine Vintage Sepia ink
Diamond Stickles
Wink of Stella pen
Card Candi - Westminster
Gold nail heads
Gold mirri card

I embossed a piece of white card with stars, layered it onto gold mirri card and attached it to the card front.  The tree was stamped onto white card, layered onto gold mirri and attached to the left side of the card.  I decorated the tree with Candi, nail heads and Stickles, adding a Wink of Stella on the tree trunk and branches.   The sentiment was stamped onto white card, layered onto gold mirri and attached to the card front with foam pads.

Filled with Love Sister

I haven't posted for a while as I've been finishing all of my Christmas cards so I can get them all posted.  I thought I would share the card I made for my sister - as all the papers and card are from my snippets drawer I'm into the playground at Pixie's Crafty Workshop.

Docrafts Me to You image and sentiment stamps (magazine freebie)
Spellbinders Standard Circles Large & Classic Scalloped Circles Large dies
Woodware Crafty Edger Ribbon Border
Momento Tuxedo Black ink
Promarkers
White fun flock
Red mirri and holly paper from snippets drawer

I used the ribbon border on a piece of red mirri card and then attached green holly paper, covering the ribbon holes and leaving the scalloped edge - this was then attached to the card front.   The image was stamped onto white card and coloured with Promarkers.  The image was die cut, embossed and layered onto a scalloped circle of red mirri card.  This was then attached to the card front.  I used white fun flock to highlight the hats.

To finish I stamped the sentiment directly onto the card front.
