Cross Stitch Paperweight

It's Sunday so time for another of my non-cardmaking posts.  I enjoy cross stitch and over the years have made many pictures, mainly to give as presents.  Nowadays I prefer smaller projects which I can finish quickly.  This cross stitch picture has been placed into the base of a paperweight - there's also a small piece of green felt on the bottom which both finishes the project and also ensures that it doesn't scratch furniture.

I have struggled with the photo as the glass shines which has pulled some of the colour out of the flowers - they're far more vivid than the photo shows.

If you would like to share your views on printers and also have a chance to win a Clearly Besotted stamp and die set - please see my Questions about Printers and Giveaway post.

Oh Kath that is beautiful! I used to do masses of cross stitch and embroidery but nowadays with my varifocals I really struggle to thread a needle or find the holes in the Aida, which takes all of the pleasure out of it for me.

This is beautiful, Kath! I've tried cross stitch a few times but just can't make anything that looks even half right so I'm in awe of this, Jo x

How fab to see someone else doing cross stitch. This is a great project. I have never thought of a paperweight. Would love to know where you get them to put the cross stitch in.

Hi Kath

I have crossed a few stitches in my time too .. .. .. I have one big picture of a Victorian dolls house that is still nowhere near finished. I wonder if it ever will be?!?!? I hope so.

Your paperweight is gorgeous. Love the beautiful colours you worked with.

Love Jules xx
