Another birthday card using more bits 'n' bobs from my box - a card blank that I had already covered with turquoise paper, a LOTV image that was already die cut into a stitched oval and 'happy' that had already been stamped and die cut.
I die cut an oval in the front of the card blank the same size as the LOTV image. I placed the card in my MISTI and positioned 'happy' over the die cut oval so I could see where to stamp 'birthday'. As the 'birthday' was part of a complete Happy Birthday sentiment stamp, I attached some washi tape onto the card front to mask the part I didn't want to stamp. I then stamped and embossed 'birthday'. I attached a piece of white card inside the front of the card blank and then inlaid the LOTV image. To finish I attached 'happy' with foam pads.
To make this card I used:
6" x 6" white matt card blank
Lili of the Valley Art Pad (I'm not sure of the name - possibly Toddlers or Babies)
My Favorite Things 'Inside & Out Stitched Oval STAX Die-namics' die
Clearly Besotted 'Modern Calligraphy' stamp and die
Clearly Besotted 'Fancy Sayings' stamp
Versafine Smoky Gray ink
Stampendous clear embossing powder
Lili of the Valley 'Beach Bliss' paper

Candy Canes
I'm really enjoying cross stitch again, especially small patterns which are easy to take away in our campervan. I have a small box in which I keep oddments of fabric, a few patterns and some threads which tucks into a cupboard when we're away. Once home anything I've stitched goes into one of my craft drawers to be make into cards, tags or other small projects.
I had stitched these candy canes a few weeks ago and thought they would be perfect for the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown 'Sewing' challenge. To make this CAS card I die cut a stitched frame from some red glitter card. I trimmed the edge of the fabric so it was slightly smaller than the frame and used extra sticky tape to attach the fabric to the rear of the frame. I then attached the panel to the centre of the card with more extra sticky tape.
To make this card I used:
6" x 6" white matt card blank
Leisure Arts 'Christmas Stitchin'' chart (Candy Canes stitched on 14 count aida with DMC threads - 321, 666, 704, 3371 & B5200)
Lawn Fawn 'Outside In Stitched Square Stacklables' die
Red glitter card

Happy Christmas
Another quick Christmas card using snippets and die cuts from my 'box of bits'.
The paper had already been trimmed, so I layered it onto dark red pearlescent card and attached it to the card front. I had got two die cuts in my box, so I layered them to make them stand out against the floral paper and attached the sentiment to the upper corner of the card.
To make this card I used:
6" x 6" white matt card blank

Cross Stitch Heart
I've recently enrolled on a Cross Stitch Diploma course and this is the first practical piece of work for one of the modules. The requirement was put a piece of aida into a hoop and stitch a basic design using two or more stitches that had been covered in the module.
I used three stitches for this heart - cross stitch, three quarter stitch and back stitch.
I used three stitches for this heart - cross stitch, three quarter stitch and back stitch.
As the smallest hoop I have is 5" diameter I had to use a large piece of aida for this small design - when I know how I'm going to use the heart I'll trim the fabric and use it for other small projects.

July Rudolph Day
I was fortunate to win a prize in the Card Chain Challenge Blog Hop and won a gift voucher from Funky Fossil Designs. One of the items I chose was a lovely stamp set 'Joy' which I've used to make this month's Rudolph Day card, using both dry and wet embossing.
I used the largest die to emboss a stitched circle in the centre of the card blank. I placed the card in my MISTI as I wanted to ensure I could stamp the image a couple of times because my ink pad is getting a little dry. After stamping the image I embossed it with clear embossing powder. I coloured the pine cones, berries and letters with coloured pencils and then used a fine paint brush and a little water to blend and deepen the colour. To finish I added a Wink of Stella to the small dots around the wreath.
To make this card I used:
5" x 5" white matt card blank
Funky Fossil Designs 'Joy' stamps
My Favorite Things 'Inside & Out Stitched Circle STAX Die-namics' die
Versafine Vintage Sepia ink
Stampendous clear embossing powder

Happy Birthday
I'm still working my way through my 'box of bits' and came across this sentiment that had been stamped and not used - perfect for a quick birthday card.
I attached the floral paper to a piece of white card and trimmed it so it was half an inch smaller than the card blank on all sides. This was layered onto a piece of 1mm foam sheet before being attached to the card blank. The sentiment had been stamped in crimson ink and embossed with clear embossing powder. I used a fishtail flag die to cut it, trimmed the end and attached it across the card.
To make this card I used:
7" x 5" white matt card blank
My Favorite Things 'Fishtail Flags' die
Clearly Besotted 'Fancy Sayings' stamp

Happy 18th Birthday
Last week I posted a card for my youngest great-nephew and today's card is for my oldest great-nephew who will soon be 18.
I trimmed the marbled paper, layered it onto black card and attached it to the centre of the card blank. I die cut 'happy' from both white and black card. The black 'happy' was embossed before the two were layered to create a shadow. As my printer generally refuses to print on card I followed Carol's tip to 'trick my printer'. I printed the sentiment in the middle of a piece of A4 paper and then cut a piece of card slightly larger than the sentiment . I used double sided tape to stick the card over the typed sentiment on the paper. I then put this though my printer and although it groaned a bit when it met the card, it printed! There were a few small ink smudges but I used my sand eraser (a prize from Di's Snippets Playground) which removed the ink marks. I used the flat end of a fishtail flag die to cut the sentiment before layering it onto black card and attaching it to the lower corner of the card. To finish I attached 'happy' across the top of the card.
To make this card I used:
7" x 5" white matt card blank
Altenew 'Mega Happy' and My Favorite Things 'Fishtail Flags' dies
Marbled paper
Black and white matt card
Computer printed sentiment 'TW Cen MT Condensed Extra Bold' font

4 Today!
I made this card for my youngest great-nephew's birthday. I can't believe he's going to be four - where has the time gone?
I trimmed the football paper, layered it onto blue card and attached it to the card blank. I resized the digi and printed it onto white paper (as my elderly printer refuses to print on card) and die cut a square before colouring it with my Promarkers. The image was layered onto blue card and attached to the centre.
To make this card I used:
6" x 6" white matt card blank
Lili of the Valley 'Football Crazy' digi stamp
Lawn Fawn 'Outside In Stitched Square Stackables' die
Promarkers
Wild Rose Studio 'Man About Town' paper
Dark blue card

Twofer Two - Happy Birthday To You
I trimmed a piece of white hammer card so it was slightly smaller than the card blank and rounded the corners. I die cut the wicker panel from white hammer card and attached it across the panel. I stamped the sentiment below the wicker strip and attached the panel to the card blank. I didn't have any dark purple card for my butterfly, so I glued two snippets of purple paper together to die cut the butterfly which was then attached onto the wicker panel. To finish I attached three small white crystal stickers to the card.
To make this card I used:
6" x 6" white hammer card blank
Memory Box 'Kaleidoscope Butterfly' and 'Wicker Panel' dies
Hobby Art 'General Greetings' stamp
Versafine Imperial Purple Ink

Thank you
This is one of a few Thank You cards I've recently made - made in minutes following a sketch.
I trimmed a strip of floral paper across the diagonal, layered it onto grey card and attached it to the front of the card blank. I stamped 'you' onto white card and cut it with the coordinating die before placing it onto the card so I could see where to stamp 'thank'. The die cut 'you' was attached with a thin foam pad and was covered with a Wink of Stella.
To make this card I used:
6" x 6" white hammer card blank
Clearly Besotted ' Modern Calligraphy' stamp and die
Versafine Imperial Purple ink
Polka Doodles 'Fourini' paper
Papermania grey textured card
Wink of Stella

All We Need is Each Other
A friend asked me to make an anniversary card for her husband, but only in black and greys. As I didn't have much notice to make the card (ordered one day to post the next!) I had to us what I had got and wondered if the paper was suitable. Thankfully my friend liked the card!
To make this quick card I trimmed the paper, layered it onto black card and attached it to the card front. I die cut the sentiment and attached it to the card. It actually took me longer to find the paper than it did to make the card!
To make this card I used:
6" x 6" white matt card blank
Hunkydory 'All you Need' die

Cross Stitch Gift Tag
I have previously stitched this little girl and made the cross stitch into a notebook, this time I've made a gift tag.
I die cut two dark turquoise ovals and cut the middle out of one. After trimming around the finished cross stitch I attached a piece of white paper behind the fabric so the colour wouldn't show through the aida before assembling the die cuts to make a gift tag. The string is made with a piece of the same dark turquoise thread which was attached between the layers.
My posts may be a little more sporadic in the future as campsites are now open and we're starting to go away again from next weekend. Also, There will be no Folksy Fridays on the weekends we're away.

Winter Wonderland
I made this quick CAS card using the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown Sketch, snippets of card and a precoloured LOTV image.
I die cut the precoloured image and attached a smaller circle of a foam sheet on the reverse. I die cut two fishtail flags, matching the colours to the snowman image, and making the red flag a little shorter than the blue one. I followed the sketch to attach the flags and snowman topper.
To make this card I used:

May All Your Dreams Come True
I made this card to send to Betty for the June Card Chain Challenge using the Sketch Option and the Theme Option (CAS & Friendship).
I die cut three stitched circles from snippets of blue, green and pink paper and attached them to the card. I die cut a strip of white hammer card and stamped the sentiment. As the sentiment was a little too dark, I added a Wink of Stella which seemed to lighten the colour to it matched the pink circle.
