January Rudolph Day

It's time for the first Rudolph Day challenge of the year!  As part of my frugal crafting year, I've decided this year my Rudolph Day cards will all be small 4" x 4" cards and will also be either upcyled or snippets cards - or maybe both!  I'm entering the ABC Christmas Challenge 'B for Birds' and The Holly and Ivy Christmas Challenge 'Always Anything Christmas Goes'.  I'm also hopping over to the playground at Pixie's Crafty Workshop with my snippets.

Card blank: 4" x 4" cream fleck matt
Image: Upcycled Christmas card
Punch: Woodware 2" square
Other: Diamond Stickles
Snippets: Gold pearlescent and bronze mirri card

To make this quick Christmas card, I punched the partridge image from the centre of the Christmas card.  This was then layered onto bronze mirri, gold pearlescent and bronze mirri card before being attached to the centre of the card.  To finish, I highlighted the partridge with Diamond Stickles.

Happy Birthday To You

I was pleased with Oli's birthday card and decided to tweak the design for another birthday card to put in my box of spare cards.  I'm entering Seize the Birthday 'Anything Goes', Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenge 'Anything Goes' and Ally's Angels 'Anything Goes'.

Card blank: 6" x 6" white matt
Image: Lili of the Valley 'Beautiful Blooms' Art Pad
Stamp: Hobby Art 'General Greetings'
Dies: My Favourite Things ' Stitched Jumbo Fishtail Banner'
Ink: Versafine Crimson Red
Card: Dark red matt
Paper: Green spot

I trimmed the green spot paper, layered it onto dark red card and attached it to the centre of the card blank.  I die cut the pre-coloured Art Pad image, ensuring the vase of flowers was in the middle of the die.  As I wanted the image to cover the full length of the card, I die cut the flat end of the banner on the piece of waste card from the top of the vase.  I drew around the die onto red card to form my matt layer and trimmed it to size.  The flower image was attached to the bottom of the matt layer and I trimmed the die cut scrap to cover the top.  I stamped the sentiment onto the waste card from the bottom of the die cut image (this ensured all the whites are the same), layered it onto red card and attached it across the join using foam tape.

May all your dreams come true

I made this quick birthday card for a friend using my last piece of this lovely butterfly paper.  I'm entering the Alphabet Challenge 'V for Vellum', Seize the Birthday 'Anything Goes' and Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenge 'Anything Goes'.

Card blank: 5" x 5" white matt
Stamp: Woodware 'Most Wonderful Birthday'
Ink: Brilliance Graphite Black
Card: Black matt
Paper: Forever in Time ''Vintage 2', Vellum
Other: Wink of Stella

I trimmed the butterfly paper to about 1cm smaller than the card blank and layered it onto black card.  I stamped the sentiment onto vellum and trimmed it when the ink had dried.  I wrapped the vellum around the top of the paper and attached it on the rear with tape.  The whole panel was then attached to the card front.  To finish I highlighted the butterfly with a Wink of Stella.

Santa Collage

I've had this Rubber Stampede 'Santa' stamp on my wish list since I saw Kathy's post last year.  As Kathy mentioned the stamp is hard to find, so I was over the moon to see some used Christmas stamps for sale on eBay, and Santa was in one of the boxes!  I'm entering Merry Monday 'Red & Turquoise' challenge, the Holly and Ivy Christmas Challenge 'Anything Christmas Goes' and The Merry Christmas Challenge 'Anything Goes + Christmas'.

Card: 5" x 5" white silk
Stamp: Rubber Stampede 'Santa Collage'
Die: My Favourite Things Die-namics 'Tag You're It'
Ink: Versafine Crimson Red
Snippets: Turquoise matt and white silk card, Lili of the Valley 'Festive Trimmings' paper, turquoise ribbon

I used my last piece of red paper from the 'Festive Trimmings' pad and tidied the edges to make a square.  I layered it onto a piece of turquoise card to highlight the writing on the paper before attaching it to the centre of the card front.  As the die is solid I decided to die cut the tag first and then stamp the image.  The stamp was wooden mounted but I was able to peel it carefully from the wooden block so I could use it in my MISTI.  I placed the die cut tag into MISTI before laying the stamp on top and stamping the Santa image a couple of times using Crimson Red ink.  The tag was attached to the front of the card with double sided tape and I attached a small bow made from a snippet of ribbon using Tacky Glue.

Twofer Feathers

I made these cards for Darnell's first Twofer Card Challenge where the prompt word is 'Feathers'.  My first challenge was to find some feathers and remembered this stamp and die set that were magazine freebies a while ago.

Onefer - Thank You

I'm also entering this card into Sparkles Monthly Challenge 'Thank You', Happy Little Stampers Anything Goes With Dies challenge and  Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenge 'Anything Goes'

Card blank: 6" x 4" white silk
Dies: Hot off the Press 'Feather', Cheery Lynn 'Thank You 2'
Card: White silk
Paper: Lili of the Valley 'Enchantment'
Other: Upcyled gold bow (from a Christmas card)

I decided to inlay the dies so attached two pieces of dark green paper to thin white card so they would be the same thickness as the card into which they would be inlaid.  I die cut 'Thank You' and the feather before setting them aside. Although it doesn't show in the photographs, the paper has small flowers and thin lines that look like feathers and I managed to cut the feather without flowers and had just the feather lines showing.  I trimmed a piece of white card so it was a couple of centimetres smaller than the card front then die cut 'Thank You' and the feather.  This panel was layered onto another piece of the Enchantment paper before being attached to the front of the card.  I inlaid the die cuts and added a small gold bow.

Twofer - You are in my Thoughts

I'm also entering this card in the Less is More 'Purples' challenge, the Alphabet Challenge 'Use Three of Something' (I used three stamps) and Allsorts 'No Patterned Papers' challenge.

Card blank: 6" x 4" white silk
Stamps: Hot off the Press 'Feather, Woodware 'Wheat'
Ink: Brilliance Pearlescent Purple, Versafine Imperial Purple
Card: White silk, purple matt

I trimmed a piece of white card so it was a couple of centimetres smaller than the card blank and then placed it into my magic MISTI.  I stamped the sentiment in the lower corner, stamping it a couple of times to get a darker colour ink.  I stamped the solid feather die in Pearlescent Purple.  When this had dried I lined up the lined feather die and stamped it in Imperial Purple.  The panel was then layered onto purple card and attached to the card front.

Enjoy your Special Day

I made this card for a friend's birthday and am entering the Seize the Birthday 'Anything Goes' challenge, Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenge 'Anything Goes' and Paper Creator 'Anything Goes challenge.  The papers and card are from my snippets drawer so I'm heading into the playground at Pixie's Crafty Workshop.

Card blank: 6" x 6" cream mat
Stamp: Hobby Art 'General Greetings'
Punches: Woodware 2" square & regular corner rounder
Ink: Versafine Vintage Sepia
Snippets: Lili of the Valley 'Father Knows Best' paper, Cream, burgundy and dark brown card
Other: Heart stick pin

I punched five 2" squares from the 'Father Knows Best' paper and rounded opposite corners on four of the squares.  These four squares were attached to a square of cream card which was then trimmed to size.  The square was then layered onto burgundy and dark brown card before being attached to the card front.  The fifth square had all four corners punched and was attached to the centre.  I stamped the sentiment onto cream card, trimmed it to size and rounded the corners.  This was then attached to the centre panel with foam tape.  To finish I pushed a heart stick pin into the foam tape.

Especially for you

I've had this cute image in my upcycling box for a while but haven't used it as I didn't want to make a mess of the card by stamping a wonky or incomplete sentiment.  So when Father Christmas gave me some money I decided to buy a MISTI - I now wonder how I managed without it!

I'm entering the Allsorts 'Something New' challenge (I've used my new MISTI), Paper Creator 'Anything Goes' challenge and Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenge 'Anything Goes'.

Card blank: 6" x 6" white matt
Image: Upcycled birthday card
Stamp: Clearly Besotted sentiment (magazine freebie)
Ink: Versafine Vintage Sepia
Card: Brown matt
Other: Wink of Stella

I trimmed the upcycled birthday card image so it was slightly smaller than my matt layer.  I popped it into my MISTI  and placed the sentiment nice and level at the side of the flower stem.  I stamped the sentiment twice to make the colour a little more intense so it matched the brown matt.  After stamping the sentiment I layered the the image onto the brown matt layer and attached it to the card front.  To finish I highlighted the flower with a Wink of Stella.

Footballer's 10th Birthday

I made this card for my great nephew's 10th birthday and thought the image would be perfect as he's nuts about football!  I'm entering the Lili of the Valley and Allsorts 'Something New' challenges and Die Cut Divas 'Do or Use Something New' challenge (I've used my new Jumbo Fishtail Banners die).  I'm also entering the Seize the Birthday 'Anything Goes' challenge.

Card blank: 6" x 6" white matt
Image: Lili of the Valley ' Action Time' Art Pad
Dies: My Favourite Things Die-namics 'Stitched Jumbo Fishtail Banner', Memory Box 'Classic Numbers'
Card: Dark red matt
Paper: Wild Rose Studio ' Man About Town'

I trimmed the football paper, layered it onto dark red card and attached it to the centre of the card front.  I die cut the pre-coloured Art Pad image ensuring there was an equal amount of white space around the footballer.  As I had used the largest die for the image and I wanted a red matt layer I drew around the edge of the die before trimming it it to shape.  I attached the footballer and trimmed the top of the matt layer so it would fit against the top of the paper.  This was then attached to the card.  I die cut the numbers and attached them with Collall glue so I had some 'wriggle time' to get them in the right place on the football.

Lots of Love Snippets

I'm on a mission to try and use lots of snippets this year, so made this anniversary card to take across to the playground at Pixie's Crafty Workshop.  I'm also entering the Die-Cut Divas 'Do or Use Something New' challenge (I've used a new die) and Ally's Angels 'Anything Goes' challenge.

Card blank: 6" x 6" white hammer
Die: Spellbinders Nestabilities 'Classic Heart'
Embossing: Kars tan embossing mat
Snippets: White hammer and red matt card, Wild Rose Studion 'Always and Forever' paper, white paper

I trimmed several snippets of paper into one centimetre strips and glued them onto white paper.  I die cut and embossed a heart, ensuring the sentiment strip was across the widest part of the heart.  I then trimmed a piece of white hammer card so it was slightly larger than the heart, layered it onto a slightly larger piece of red card and attached it to the centre of the card.  The heart die cut was attached using Collall glue so I could move it around until it was in the centre of the card.

Thank you for our gifts

Happy New Year!  It's the start of a New Year, a new month and a new challenge at Christmas Crafts All Year Round where we want to see 'Thank You' cards.  I'm also entering my card into the first challenge at Ally's Angels  where 'Anything Goes'.

Card blank: 6" x 6" white silk
Stamp: Bugaboo 'Rudolph Presents' digi (Friday freebie)
Die: Spellbinders Nestabilities 'Wonky Rectangles'
Embossing: Kars tan embossing mat
Colouring: Promarkers
Card: White silk
Paper: Turquoise snowflake (magazine freebie)
Other: Silver card candi, Glossy Accents, computer generated sentiment 'Tempus Sans ITC'

I trimmed the snowflake paper and attached it to the card.  I resized the digi and added the sentiment before printing it onto white card.   I then die cut and embossed the image before colouring it with Promarkers.  As I wanted the image to stand away from the card front, I cut two more wonky rectangles with the smaller die and layered these to the back of the panel before attaching it to the centre of the card.  To finish I added silver Card Candi to the top and bottom corners and highlighted Rudolph's eyes with Glossy Accents.
