Steve and I went to a stained glass workshop this morning at Seaton's Coastal Craft Collective. It was the first time I've ever cut glass, used a grinder and used a soldering iron - Steve had done some soldering several decades ago but hasn't done much crafting so a lot of the techniques were new to him.
The workshop started with us using plain glass to get used to cutting different shapes before we were let loose on the beautiful coloured glass to make our designs. I chose an angel and Steve chose a feather and, unknown to each other, we chose the same colour glass.
For our first attempt, we were both pleased with the results but I'm not sure it will be a new craft for either of us. The Craft Collective have several other workshops we're interested in doing, so hope to get more booked soon.

ReplyDeleteHi Kath
ReplyDeleteGreat that you and Steve are able to go to try different crafts together .. .. your finished projects are really lovely! They certainly don't look like the work of beginners that for sure.
I wonder what else you will be trying your hands at?
Love Jules xx
What brilliant results you and Steve got from the stained glass workshop Kath, and the blue tones on both look really lovely. Look forward to seeing what else you do. x
