Answers about Card Blanks and Winner of Giveaway

Thank you to everyone who commented on my Questions about Card Blanks post last week.  I was going to put a short precis of the responses on this post, but I was overwhelmed with the number of responses I received!  As many of the comments are quite detailed I think it best if you pop over to the original post to read the comments if you would like to know more about the card blanks that crafters use.

The other important thing is to announce the winner of the Clearly Besotted 'Miniature Florals' stamp set.  And the winner is:

Congratulations Joan!  Please email me at kmbuckell@btinternet.com with your full postal address and I'll get the stamps to you as soon as possible.

There were be more questions and another giveaway on the first Wednesday in September.

  1. Morning Kath, first of all well done Joan.

I missed that post as we've been on holiday but gather you asked about cardstock we use, I buy nearly all mine from Anna Marie Designs, not the cheapest but by far the best quality I've ever come across and stands up to my 'conservatory test' - when I first started crafting about 15 years ago good quality card stock was hard to come by so I started (and still do if I'm using something new) make up a card and leave it overnight in the conservatory. Good card still looks the same in the morning, the not so good invariable bows so it a no no for me as so many of mine go either to TV or animal charity shops.

  2. Me again Kath, I should really have read your other post first, what I but from Anna Marie Designs are mainly ready cut and scored card blanks mostly 300 and 325gsm which they do up to 8x8.

I buy both black and white and use probably use equal quantities of both and the beauty for me is they sell blanks without envelopes if you wish - I end up with so many envies otherwise as they are not needed for TV samples.

For larger cards, again for TV purposes I cut my own from A3 card stock which I buy from Limetree Crafts, John and Rose do most of the shows, but I'm lucky they live a couple of villages away from me so I go the their warehouse (not open to the public though).
