July Rudolph Day

My first post today is a Christmas tree card for this month's Rudolph Day.  I was about to publish my post when I saw that the Christmas Kickstart Challenge is Twofer 'Christmas Tree' Challenge so I got my tree stamp out again and made a second card.

On the first card the tree was paper pieced with my last tiny snippets of 'Annabelle's Christmas' paper.  This paper had been a cover gift with a magazine ages ago and I've loved using the papers - sadly I've been unable to find it for sale anywhere.

To make this card I used:
     6" x 6" white matt card blank
     Woodware 'Tipsy Tree' stamps
Lawn Fawn 'Outside In Stitched Square Stackables' die
     Brown Promarker
Snippets of white matt and red textured card, Wild Rose Studio 'Annabelle's Christmas' paper

I am entering the following challenges:
Christmas Kickstart Challenge 'Twofer Christmas Tree'
     Pixie's Snippets Playground 'Challenge 357'
     Rudolph Day - July challenge

For my second card I heat embossed the tree onto kraft card, set it in a thin cream frame and coloured the tree with a white pencil.  To finish I applied several layers of a Wink of Stella to the tree (which sadly doesn't really show in the photograph).

To make this card I used:
A2 tent fold kraft card blank
     Woodware 'Tipsy Tree' stamp
My Favourite Things 'A2 Stitched Rectangle STAX Set 1 Die-namics' dies
     Versamark ink pad
     Stampendous White Opaque embossing powder
     Bruynzeel Sakura white pencil
     Wink of Stella

I am entering the following challenges:
Christmas Kickstart Challenge 'Twofer Christmas Tree'
Jingle Belles Challenge 'Photo Inspiration' (I have used the tree, rustic cardstock and sparkle as my inspiration)
Merry Little Christmas Challenge 'Anything Christmas Goes'

  6. Oh Kath, both cards are striking to view. That is a great Christmas tree image and your first card with the paper piecing is so sweet.

At first glance, I thought the second card was stamped on vellum. Then a read your post about white embossed and then coloured. It looks great!

Thanks for taking part in the July Rudolph Days Challenge.

  12. Two fabulous cards Kath! I found your paper pack HERE https://www.ebay.co.uk/i/202708654808?chn=ps&norover=1&mkevt=1&mkrid=710-134428-41853-0&mkcid=2&itemid=202708654808&targetid=604161342633&device=c&mktype=pla&googleloc=9045741&poi=&campaignid=1506022786&mkgroupid=59527570513&rlsatarget=aud-605072136701:pla-604161342633&abcId=1139586&merchantid=7389464&gclid=Cj0KCQjwvo_qBRDQARIsAE-bsH-jqB48I1-wk4ENKBoUjHotSITTL5ioQKmXIUV08zBvZwhChgd-xrkaAr1LEALw_wcB

Swincraft who are selling it are decent sellers too, have used them in the past. Like you, I adore this pack and also have the toppers to match. In fact, I loved the freebie so much that I went right out and bought another pack but that was a few years ago now and they're partly decimated!

    Hugs

  14. Well done, Kath, being right off the mark for the Kickstart challenge! Thank you for playing with your brilliant tree Twofers! I love that clever paper-pieced design against all that white with the brown matting! I'm not sure I would have thought to use pp like that, so thank you for the inspiration! (I did a quick search for more paper for you and will include links below.) I also love your kraft version with the white pencil and lovely white frame around! The white pencil and white heat-embossing gives the look of being cut from vellum! Hugs, Darnell
