This is the Christmas card I made for my mother. I'm entering the ABC Christmas Challenge 'Y is for Your Favourite Thing' (I love inlaid die cutting as I find it so relaxing), the Crafty Cardmakers 'Christmas' challenge, the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown 'Pick a Previous 2017 Challenge' (I've chosen the November 2017 Sketch Challenge) and the Happy Little Stampers Anything Goes With Dies challenge. All the card was from my snippets drawer so I'm also heading into the playground at Pixie's Crafty Workshop.
Card blank: 6" x 6" white matt
Dies: Creative Dies 'Festive Scene' (magazine freebie), Spellbinders Nestabilities 'Standard Circles Large'
Card: White matt
Other: Computer generated sentiment 'Copperplate Gothic Light' font
Snippets: Blue and gold pearlescent card, Marianne Design 'Snow Paper', blue speckled paper, white card
I printed the sentiment onto white card, trimmed the panel, layered it onto blue pearlescent card and attached it to the card front. I die cut the Festive Scene from blue card and used Stick and Spray to glue it to a die cut blue circle before attaching it to the centre of the card. I attached the blue speckled paper onto thin white card to make it the same thickness as the outline before die cutting the sky and inlaying it. The snow and snowflakes were die cut from Snow Paper before being inlaid. To finish I die cut the windows from gold card and inlaid them into the scene.

ReplyDeleteA gorgeous winter scene, your mum will love it
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely scene Kath and made with such patience as well. Like you, I do so love inlaying die cuts and this freebe ie die makes it so worthwhile. I'm almost sure that's the die I had which curled up when I used it so it had to go 'out'. Such a shame as it really is lovely. And I get the adding card to the back of paper to evenup the layering!

ReplyDeleteIts a great freebie die. Though really it's not free but incorporated into the price of mag.
I think Mags are a waste. I rarely make a card from them though do read them. Snippetty hugs Shaz in Oz.x
