Cross Stitch Best Wishes

I made this card with another cross stitch kit that was a magazine cover gift.  I didn't like the card blank that came with the kit as it was too flimsy so I trimmed a piece of dark red textured card so it was slightly smaller than the card blank and die cut a scalloped circle in the centre.  I fastened the cross stitch behind the aperture and attached it to the card.

March Rudolph Day

My final card today is a Christmas card for the Rudolph Day challenge - this one uses dry embossing.

I embossed a piece of white card and trimmed it before layering it onto a piece of dark blue foiled card and attaching it to the card front.  I die cut the 'Let it Snow' from the dark blue foiled card and used strong glue to attach it to the centre of the card.

To make this card I used:
     6" x 4" white matt card blank
Creative Expressions 'Festive Collection - Let it Snow' die
     Darice 'Snowflake Background' embossing folder
Snippets of dark blue foiled card and white matt card

Jack, Patch and Puss

This card is for Steve's niece's 18th birthday, made using a cute Lili of the Valley Art Pad image.

I attached pink heart paper to the front of the card, leaving a border around the edge.  My square dies were all the wrong size to trim the Art Pad image, so I cut it into a square and then placed it into a die to make the stitched border around the edge.  The panel was then attached to the centre of the card.  I die cut '18' from red card and attached it to the lower corner of the card.  There were three small hearts on the image, but to balance the '18' I punched one medium and three small hearts, attaching the larger heart over the middle one on the image and the three smaller hearts around it.  To finish I added Glossy Accents to the two smaller hearts.

To make this card I used:
     6" x 6" white matt card blank
Lili of the Valley 'Jack, Patch and Puss' Art Pad
Lawn Fawn 'Outside In Stitched Square Stackables' and Memory Box 'Classic Numbers' dies
Woodware Regular and Small Heart punches
Lili of the Valley 'Heartfelt' paper pad
     Glossy Accents

Happy Birthday to You

My first card today is for Steve's nephew who will soon be 16 - hence the 16 candles!

I stamped the sentiment onto the lower edge of a piece of white card.  I then die cut four blue, four brown, four green and four red candles before attaching them in a line above the sentiment.  I trimmed the panel slightly before layering it onto a piece of brown card and attaching it to the card front.  To finish I die cut 16 flames from gold card and inlaid them into the candles.

To make this card I used:
     DL white matt card blank
     Tattered Lace 'Mini Candle' die
     Hobby Art 'General Greetings' stamp
     Versafine Vintage Sepia ink
Snippets of blue, brown, gold, green and red textured card and white matt card

Rabbit Fridge Magnet

This cross stitch rabbit was another cover gift with a magazine I've recently purchased.  Although the kit was to make a card the finished cross stitch fit perfectly into a Framecraft fridge magnet.

Happy Anniversary

My final card today is an Anniversary card for a few of my favourite challenges.

I die cut the wicker panel from a snippet of warm white hammer card and attached it across a square of the same card.  I rounded the corners before attaching the panel to the card blank.  I stamped the sentiment below the wicker panel using grey ink and clear embossing powder.  I die cut four hearts from snippets of red textured card and four hearts from snippets of raspberry textured card.  I attached the red outline hearts to the wicker panel and inlaid the pink centres.

To make this card I used:
6" x 6" warm white hammer card blank
Memory Box 'Wicker Panel' and Creative Expressions 'From the Heart - Female Relations' dies
     Hobby Art 'General Greetings' stamp

Enjoy the Peace and Quiet

Just two cards from me today - my first is a note card I made to send to a cat loving friend.

To make this super quick card I covered the front of the card with spotty paper, leaving a small border around the edge.  I die cut the precoloured image with a stitched oval die and attached it to the centre - it doesn't get any easier than that!

To make this card I used:
     6" x 4" white matt card blank
Lili of the Valley 'Garden Delights' Art Pad
My Favourite Things 'Inside & Out Stitched Oval STAX Die-namics' die
Lili of the Valley 'Country Gent' paper

Cross Stitch Best Mum Keyring

Today's non-cardmaking item is another cross stitch keyring, made with another preloved cross stitch kit.  In the kit, the cross stitch was for a small picture but it fitted the keyring perfectly.

I attached green paper to the card leaving a small border around the edge.  I die cut the precoloured image with a stitched oval die and attached it to the left side of the card. To finish, I used the waste card to die cut 'Mum' before attaching it to the lower edge of the card.

To make this card I used:
     5" x 5" white matt card blank
Lili of the Valley 'James and Jenny Bear' Art Pad
My Favourite Things 'Inside & Out Stitched Oval STAX Die-namics' and Crafts-Too 'Mum' dies

You are Fabulous

My first card today is the one I sent to Mia for the February Card Chain Challenge.  I chose the colour Option (Soft Navy, Blush Pink & Silver Grey), the Sketch Option and the Theme Option (Nature & Friendship).

I die cut the wicker panel from white card and attached it across the centre of the card and trimmed the card blank so it was the same width.  I stamped and embossed the butterfly and 'you' sentiment before die cutting them with their coordinating dies.  I placed the card into my MISTI and laid the butterfly and 'you' onto it so I could place the 'are fabulous' stamp before stamping and embossing it.  I coloured the butterfly with Promarkers before attaching it to across the wicker panel and attached 'you' on a thin foam pad.  To finish I highlighted the butterfly wings with a Wink of Stella.

To make this card I used:
     6" x 6" white matt card blank
Card Making Magic 'The Best of Card Making Magic' butterfly stamp & Clearly Besotted 'Modern Calligraphy' stamp and coordinating dies
     Memory Box 'Wicker Panel' die
     Versafine Magestic blue ink
     Stampendous clear embossing powder
     Snippets of white card
     Wink of Stella

Cross Stitch House Keyring

Today's post is another keyring.  This one has a small cross stitch house which had been a cover gift with a magazine to make a postcard.   After stitching the house I found it fitted perfectly into a Framecraft keyring, so I trimmed around the edge and fastened it into the frame.

I enjoyed stitching this house as it didn't take too much concentration whilst I was watching television in an evening.  The design is also perfect for using oddments of thread so I'll be making more of these to sell.

Oh Christmas Tree

Another Christmas card for a new challenge that I've recently discovered - Fezzwig's Festive Frolics.

To make this quick card I die cut the Christmas tree from black self adhesive glitter paper and attached it to the centre of the card.  It doesn't get much quicker or easier than that!  I do like unfussy cards to send to the men in our family and this one is perfect for a friend who supports Exeter Chiefs.

To make this card I used:
     6" x 6" white hammer card blank
Creative Expressions 'Festive Collection - Christmas Tree Greetings'
Xcut black self adhesive glitter sheet

I am entering the following challenges:
Fezzwig's Festive Frolics - Oh Christmas Tree

Joy

Whilst making my red 'JOY' card a few weeks ago, I used some snippets of blue paper and card to make this version.  It's also perfect for the new challenge at The Male Room 'Team Colours' - a Christmas card for a friend who supports Chelsea.

I trimmed a piece of white hammer card so it was slightly smaller than the front of the card and die cut 'JOY' from the centre.  I rounded the corners before attaching the panel to the front of the card.  I attached snippets of blue checked paper onto thin white card and die cut 'JOY'.  The letters were inlaid into the card.  I die cut the fancy 'JOY' from dark blue textured card and attached it over the top.

To make this card I used:
     6" x 4" white hammer card blank
Creative Expressions 'Festive Collection - Joy' die
     Woodware regular corner rounder punch
Snippets of dark blue textured card, white hammer card and white matt card, blue checked paper
