Teddy with Robin

I love these Lili of the Valley pre-coloured toppers and have used 'Teddy with Robin' to make this card for the current A Gem of a Challenge which is 'Teddy Bears'.  I'm also entering the Crafty Friends 'All Things Cute' challenge and Crafty Hazelnut's Patterned Paper Challenge.  The paper and card are from my snippets drawer, so I'm also popping across to the playground at Pixie's Crafty Workshop.

Card blank: 6" x 6" white silk
Image: Lili of the Valley 'Teddy with Robin' pre'coloured topper
Dies: Spellbinders Nestabilities Standard Circles Large & Classic Scalloped Circles Large
Embossing: Kars tan embossing mat
Other: Diamond Stickles, Wink of Stella, Cream gems
Snippets: Red card, turquoise stripe paper, cream snowflake paper

I cut a snippet of turquoise stripe paper in half and layered it at the top and bottom of red card before attaching it to the card front.  A strip of cream snowflake paper was layered onto red card and attached across the centre to cover the join.  The topper was die cut and embossed before being layred on a scalloped die cut circle and attached to the card with foam tape.  I added Diamond Stickles to the snow on the image and highlighted the teddy and robin with a Wink of Stella.  To finish I added cream gems to the top and bottom of the card.

Uguns the Dragon

The current Less is More challenge is 'Saints, Dragons or Heroes' in celebration of St George's Day which is celebrated in England on 23 April.  I've used a Lili of the Valley die cut 'Ugun the Dragon' for my card which I'm also entering into The Male Room 'Shakespeare' challenge. My interpretation is that Shakespeare died on 23 April 1616 (which is the day we celebrate St George's Day) and one of Shakespeare's famous quotes from King Lear is 'Come not between the dragon and his wrath'.  I'm also entering the Seize the Birthday 'Anything Goes' challenge.

Card blank: 6" x 6" white silk
Image: Lili of the Valley 'Uguns the Dragon' die-cut topper
Die: Memory Box 'Grand Happy Birthday'
Card: Dark purple and pale green matt

I die cut the Grand Happy Birthday from dark purple card, trimmed it and attached it to the lower edge of the card.  I then die cut the birthday section from pale green card and inlaid the letters.  Although the dragon was already die cut it had quite a thick white border, so I fussy cut around the image before attaching it to the card front with Pinflair glue. As I want to send the card to a young boy I resisted the temptation to add any sparkle or sequins!

April Rudolph Day

This is my second Rudolph Day card as part of Scrappymo's Design Team and I've used another lovely pre-coloured Lili of the Valley topper - one of the great images I won as my prize a few weeks ago.  I'm also entering this card into A Gem of a Challenge 'Teddy Bears', Christmas Card Challenges 'Anything Goes, Crafty Friends 'All Things Cute' challenge and ABC Christmas Challenge  'H for Hat'.

Card blank: 6" x 6" white silk
Image: Lili of the Valley 'James in the Snow' pre-coloured topper
Card: Silver mirri
Paper: Lili of the Valley 'Frosty Christmas'
Other: Stampendous Fun Flock, Diamond Stickles, pale blue gems

I trimmed the Merry Christmas paper, layered it onto silver mirri and attached it to the card blank.  I trimmed the topper, layered it onto silver mirri and attached it to the centre of the card.  I added white Fun Flock to the hat trim and Stickles to the snow around James' feet and the snowflakes.  To finish I added pale blue gems to the top and bottom corners of the card.

I'm looking forward to seeing everyone's entries into this challenge and don't forget there is a fabulous prize on offer - a choice of either a Memory Box 'Small Blooming Poinsettia' die or a Wild Rose Studio 'Girl with Christmas Bouquet' stamp.

Poinsettia Heel

Marie is the host of this week's Winter Wonderland challenge and she has chosen 'Winter Blossoms' as the theme.  This month we have two fabulous sponsors for our challenge - Bugaboo Stamps are giving seven images from their online store to one winner and The Craft Barn are giving a £10.00 voucher to spend in their store to the second lucky winner.

For my card I've used this lovely Bugaboo Digi 'Poinsettia Heel'.  I'm entering this card into the 52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown 'Christmas Foliage' challenge' and Christmas Card Challenges 'Anything Goes'. I'm also entering the Classic Design Team Open Challenge which is 'Anything Goes'.

Card blank:6" x 6" white silk
Stamp:  Bugaboo Digi 'Poinsettia Heel'

Card: Red matt, silver mirri, white silk
Paper: Wild Rose Studio 'Annabelle's Christmas' (magazine freebie)
Other: Computer generated sentiment 'Harrington' font, Wink of Stella, Crystal Stickles, red nailheads

I trimmed the paper, layered it onto red card and silver mirri before attaching it to the card front. I printed the Poinsettia Heel onto white card.  I die cut and embossed the image before attaching it to a scalloped and embossed silver mirri circle.  I coloured the shoe with a pale grey Promarker and Sakura Clear Star pen.  The poinsettia was coloured with Promarkers with a Wink of Stella on the leaves and Stickles on the yellow flowers.  The image was then attached to the centre of the card.  I printed the sentiment, trimmed it, layered it onto silver mirri and attached it to the card with foam tape.  To finish I added red nailheads to the top and bottom corners of the card.

Rain or Shine

The current Cuttlebug Mania challenge is 'April Showers' and they want to see rain on your card.  This cute Dovecraft stamp is the nearest I can find with rain and the paper looks like it's raining flowers!  I'm also entering the Die Cut Divas April challenge which is to make a project associated with April ('Rain or Shine' is definitely April weather) and Penny's Paper Crafty 'Anything Goes'  challenge.   The card and papers are from my snippets drawer to so I'm also heading into the playground at Pixie's Crafty Workshop.

Card blank: 4" x 4" white silk
Stamp: Dovecraft Smirk 'Rain or Shine'

I trimmed the paper, layered it onto dark blue card and attached it to the card front.  The image was stamped onto white card and coloured with Promarkers.  I die cut and embossed the image before attaching it to a die cut and embossed lacy square.  To finish I highlighted the coloured areas with a Wink of Stella.

C for Cats

I made this card for the Alphabet Challenge 'C for Cats' and am also entering the Crafty Friends  'For a Child' challenge, Seize the Birthday 'Anything Goes' challenge and  Crafty Hazelnut's Patterned Paper Challenge.

Card blank: 6" x 6" cream silk
Image: Lili of thte Valley 'Lili's Die Cut Kitties'
Stamp: Birthday Wishes (magazine freebie)
Ink: Versafine Toffee
Card: Light brown texture
Paper: Wild Rose Studio 'Blackberry Lane' (magazine freebie)

I trimmed the patterned paper, layered it onto light brown card and attached it to the card front.  Although the cat was already die cut, I fussy cut it to reduce the amount of white card around the image and then attached it to the card with foam tape.  I stamped the sentiment onto another piece of patterned paper, trimmed it, layered it onto light brown card and attached it with foam tape ensuring the pattern lined up with the backing paper.

White and Metallic Gold Christmas

The current 52 {Christmas} Card Challenge is 'White and Metallic Gold' and I've kept my card nice and simple by using just two dies and some gold mirri card (which has been very difficult to photograph!).  I'm also entering Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas Challenge Extra and, as the mirri card is from my snippets drawer, I'm also popping across to the playground at Pixie's Crafty Workshop.

Card blank: 6" x 6" white hammer
Dies:  Memory Box 'Grand Merry Christmas', Christmas Tree (magazine freebie)
Snippets: Gold mirri card

I trimmed the card blank to a 6" x 4" size and cut Merry Christmas from the offcut.  I then die cut both the sentiment and tree from gold mirri.  I trimmed the bottom of the sentiment so there was only a narrow border and also snipped the bottom of the tree trunk so both the sentiment and tree would fit the card front.  These were then attached to the card. I then inlaid the white letters into the sentiment.

Merry Christmas to You and Yours

The current challenge at Merry Monday is 'Getting Sentimental' where the sentiment is the main focus of the card.  I've used one of my favourite stamps for this card and am also entering the ABC Christmas Challenge 'G for Green or Gold' (I've used both), the Sparkles Christmas Challenge 'CAS Christmas' and the Classic Design Team Open Challenge 'Anything Goes'.  The paper and card were from my snippets drawer so I'm rushing across to Pixie's Crafty Workshop before the playground gates close.

Card blank: 5" x 5" white pearl
Stamp: Inkadinkado 'Merry Christmas to You and Yours'
Die: Spellbinders Nestabilities Wonky Rectangles
Embossing: Kars tan embossing mat, Stampendous clear embossing powder
Ink: Versafine Olympia Green
Other: Gold gel pen
Snippets: Gold mirri and white pearl card, green patterned paper

I trimmed the snippet of green paper, layered it onto gold mirri and attached it across the centre of the card.  I stamped and embossed the sentiment onto white pearl card.  This was die cut and embossed before being attached to the card front with foam tape.  To finish I used a gold gel pan to colour the stars.

Christmas Baubles

Carol is the host for this week's Winter Wonderland challenge and she has chosen the theme 'Baubles'.  The baubles can be part of the image, die cuts, or even the shape of the card - you choose!  We are sponsored by Crafty Sentiments Designs who are offering three digis from their store to the lucky winner.

For my card I've used another lovely Lili of the Valley pre-coloured topper called 'Trimming the Tree'.  I'm entering this card into the Christmas Card Challenges 'Anything Goes', Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas Challenge 'Anything Goes' and Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas Challenge Extra 'Anything Goes' challenges.

Card blank: 7" x 7" white silk
Image: Lili of the Valley 'Trimming the Tree' pre -coloured topper
Card: Red mirri
Paper: Lili of the Valley 'Festive Trimmings', red sentiment paper (magazine freebie)
Other: Red nailheads, Stampendous Fun Flock, Wink of Stella

I trimmed the green paper, layered it onto red mirri card and attached it to the card front.  My last strip of red sentiment paper was layered onto red mirri and attached to the left side of the card.  The topper was also layered onto red mirri and attached to the centre of the card with foam tape.  I added three nail heads to the top and bottom corners, highlighted the image with a Wink of Stella and Fun Flock to the dog's hat.

Christmas Angel

There's a great sketch challenge at 52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown this week and I've used a Lili of the Valley Christmas Angel and papers for my card.  I'm also entering the Christmas Card Challenge which is 'Anything Goes', Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas Challenge where 'Anything Goes as long as it's Christmas' and Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas Challenge Extra' where 'Anything Goes' every month.

Card blank: 6" x 6" white silk
Image: Lili of the Valley 'Christmas Angels' Art Pad
Die: Spellbinders Nestabilities Standard Circles Large
Embossing: Kars tan embossing mat
Paper: Lili of the Valley 'Classic Christmas'
Other: Wink of Stella

I covered the front of the card blank with red paper.  As I didn't have a large circle die, I put a Pyrex mixing bowl onto the holly paper and cut around it.  The semi-circle was then attached to the left of the card.  I die cut and embossed the angel image and attached it to the centre of the card with foam tape.  To finish I highlighted the angel with a Wink of Stella.

The Key to Successful Ageing ...

The current Allsorts challenge is 'April Fool or Humorous' and I'm using a great Bugaboo image which had been a magazine freebie supplied by Craftsuprint a few years ago.  I'm also entering the ABC Challenges 'E is for Everything' and the Seize the Birthday 'Anything Goes' challenges.

Card blank: 8" x 6" white silk
Image: Bugaboo printed image (magazine freebie)
Card: Lilac matt
Paper: Lili of the Valley 'Timeless Victorian'
Other: Clear gems

I trimmed the paper, layered it onto lilac card and attached it to the card front.  I cut around the main image and attached it to the card front.  I cut the hair/hat, cake, skirt, shoes and sentiment from another image and decoupaged them.  To finish I added four clear gems to the corners of the sentiment.
